The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Back home the Screening. Really great to see Aliens on the big screen for the 1st time. The three bad things is the guy who sat front middle a row ahead of me blocking the bottom 1/5 of the middle of the screen oh well. Second started not feeling well bout a hour into aliens, on the plus as I walked out to the bathroom the 1st time ran into no other then Lance Henriksen who saw me in my BDU's and talked to me for bout 2 minutes. 3rd and final was probably a projectionist's mistake or lost in the making of the brand new fox reel, or it may only be in the special feature edition. About a hour in when Gorman is talking Apone through the facility 2 or 3 seconds is cut from where Apone says "Roger that is a 216" and they actually start to walk down the stairs. In this version of the film it cuts in the middle of him saying roger that is a 21 it is cut to the shot of you seeing the Hive shot for the 1st time.

Carmageddon was a total bust, 101 had like 10 people on it each way on my way there at about 1:30 pm. Was great to hear the Q and A with Rico Ross, Lance, Michael, Mark and Jeanette. Thanks to Randy for the info on this great event, it was great to meet him there. It was kinda nice to be the only Aliens fan in BDU's. Almost everyone commented to me. Real great to meet and take pictures/get autographs with all 5 of the celebs.

It was also great to meet Stuntman Mike in person, I owe him a beer the next time we run into each other for quite literally stepping on his toes as I was walking to my seat, my apologies Mike.

Pictures of the event and pictures of my new autograph collection will be up in a day or two when I organize them all

A great even for any amount of money even better since it was only 14 bucks(2 tickets)+food!

That's okay. :)

See my reply to one of your posts about the event, asking you to post on Lance and Ricco's official pages. :)

Great event. The new print provided by Fox looked fantastic. I did notice that jump in the movie from the stairwell right to the hive entrance. Don't know what happened there. Just FYI for anyone going to the New Beverly Cinema in the future. Don't sit in rows 2-5. The floor actually slopes down in those rows. Something tells me that originally there were no seats in that part of the theater. We sat in the 3rd row and the folks in front of us were higher. I had 2 guys heads in the picture. Oh well.

The Q&A session was really great. I got video of most of it. I will post it somewhere. The only issue is that a lot of the stories they told were the same stories that are in the documentary on the DVD/Blu Ray. Michael Biehn swears like a sailor and was funny as hell. F*&K Alien 3! Sadly, out of everyone, Biehn seemed the least interested in interacting with the fans. He made his way out of the theater as quickly as he could. Everyone else was really nice, but Lance was by far the coolest and most approachable. He was indeed hanging out in the lobby talking to people during the movie. I can't believe the guy is 71 years old. He looks great.

Was nice meeting chevyh0tr0d as well. Don't worry man, my toes are fine. No beer needed.

1000 thanks to Randy for posting this.

Not sure if he's had the operation to fix it or not, but Michael's got a slight heart problem, so that might have been a factor.

Saw some pics from others on Facebook and it was a hell of a line up. :)

Gotta remember the film Aliens is like 400 years old. Its not like they put it onto DVD and put it in a digital projector. Chances are that film has been sitting in a can in a warehouse, probably next to the ark, for some 25 odd years. So on its original run, or maybe even the current one, the film got burnt, or cut, but its been spliced....sounds like they had to take out quite a bit of film too. Must have been a bad burn at some point.

Yea I was expecting there to maybe a few seconds missing because of a bad burn or cut. Don't get me wrong this version of it on 35mm was great, a lot better quality then the terminator they showed right before, and it exceeded my expectations by far. I just wish there would not of been that 2-5 second cut out of the film!

It was funny to have almost everyone comment to me either in regards to my Aliens Fan level or about how awesome my camo. thanks to being the only 1 there in BDUS. I mean shoot even the man himself Lance commented to me saying something like "look at you" when I got up in the middle of the movie to use the restroom!

Well, here's at least one photo of the night.

Image

My ugly mug with my favorite Smart Gunner!
Sorry about not having full gear, but I tried to go with the spirit. Besides, chevyh0tr0d had it covered!

Finally got confirmation about Vasquez and Drake being "lifers" taken from prison to be in the Marines. Read that years ago but never could find the source material.

While Biehn did depart early, I was happy to get him to sign my lobby card of the group shot, which now makes sigs from Hicks, Bishop, Vasquez, Drake and Frost.

Maybe one day I'll get Al Matthews... that would be ABSOLUTELY BAD-ASS!

(Thanks to chevyh0tr0d for taking the picture)

Glad the Photo turned out so well Randy.

I heard something bout them being "lifers" either on the DVD or on a forum, so this is something I was already 99% sure of but it was great to confirm it.

I think you had a little more then spirt Randy your hat, Dog tags and tshirt made it like you were kinda on the sulaco after cryostasis or like you were preping the dropship/apc. I am really glad I did not have my armor to bring probably would of been sweating bricks then.
