The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Alright, after typing in "webbing" and getting some 400+ results  I need sum help on where to aquire some webbing for my latest suit of armor. Both sizes. At this point, while I'd like cotton webbing, I'd be happy with nylon webbing.

I thought I had enough set aside to build another set- but either A) I don't B) I can't find it after the last move C) WTF?

Anyone got a site they like for webbing?

Thanks Gav, but I found some! Damn, had to resort to using the Google search function...

www.strapworks.com

It's not cotton, but heavyweight polypro-

Very inexpensive too!

I'm a happy Marine now! :delta:

same stuff as what i used was just trial and error with the cuts as the fraying but had the idea of just melting it to lock the material together with an iron. seemed to do the trick.

I was going to recommend Strapworks, but you found 'em. I do a lot of business with those guys.

Nogarth, you can just melt the ends with a lighter, it's much easier. I've also been told that a soldering iron is the best way to make holes in it, but I haven't tried that yet.

Scared of you Taj! Can't wait to see what project you've come up with!

Yup, I use a soldering iron to make the holes as well as sear the ends. Works great! Just be advised that your soldering iron will be "dedicated" to webgear makin'- not much for solderin afterwards...

It's really a huge timesaver too, versus wrestling with a hole punch...just make sure your time savin's doesn't get shot to hell by getting burned while holding the strap folded over, doing two holes at once...
