The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hello!

My name is Gary and I hail from North London, England.
I'm mainly joining today as i'm attending the LFCC this weekend which has reignited my interest in all things Aliens (and costuming).

Been thinking about attempting a Weyland Yutani technician type costume before attempting anything like a full CM outfit. Hopefully this weekend - and this site - will help provide some inspiration! :)

Hello. I have been wanting to build a pulse rifle for a long time now. I ran into a couple marines at E3 this year who pointed me to this site. If you know who you are, send me a reply.
Anyway, I would really like to find the kit that converts the airsoft gun into the pulse rifle.
That stuff seems to be harder to find these days.

If anybody can start me in the right direction (or better yet point me to EVERYTHING that I need) that would be sweet!

Thanks,
Adam

You are looking for the G&P pulse rifle kit. You should be able to find one easily enough through google. On top of the kit you will also need a Thompson.

Hey there,
Was around here long ago I believe.
My name is Skip and i live in Tennessee. Big Aliens-Pred-Marines fan.also an active Hunters Lair and 501st member. Lurked around occasionally so i thought I would get back on here and post.

Ive had a Marine suit for along time, done some events like Dcon and Wonderfest in marine armor.Had my Alien done years ago,got a monster-room tail and a DB alien head. I sculpted all the body parts and cast them in latex.made my own bodysuit that way.
We did two of them, Mine was the Brown one
Image
My pred is known as the "Red hunter".did it back around the time that Batman-Dead end came out but mine is not based on the red Predator in the film.
Image
Image

I also do lots of other stuff, like Ironman. made all the molds and vacformed this one myself
Image

Also build props and model displays.
heres the claymore mine from AVP-Requiem
Image
An MPC model of Alien on custom base
Image
Chestburster
Image

Lastly,if anyone ever saw "thepulse rifle . net", the website that had thousands of girls hold the same pulse rifle. well that was mine.started off as a joke ,then it exploded. I believe the website is gone but it was fun while it lasted. My pulse rifle was made years ago.not near the good reference materials were around when i started it.
Image
anyway, ill snoop around.still collect lots of Alien and Pred stuff.
Also sell some of the stuff i make.

As of right now, Loki is definately going. Ill tell him to get over here and sign up.
I have no idea if he is bringing the Bug but i would imagine so. I myself have no clue if ill be there at Dcon. If i come down itll be something decided last minute.Ive got 3 kids (cheerleading, honors stuff) and get busy with school stuff around that time.
I love me some Dcon!!
unfortunately i may not fit my Alien anymore.took up some body building and had to retire alot of my stuff. kinda hard to put big biceps in trooper armor.LOL , but hey, my Vader is lookin real good!! and i sculpted the bicep armor for my Ironman oversized so they just barely fit still.but its all good.

Hey, I'm Rick. Loved the Alien saga ever since first watching Alien when I was nine. Obviously I'm new to the site, and excited to participate. I've got a full outfit and I'm ready to serve. Gonna be at Comic Con Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and I'm excited to show my Colonial Marine pride.

Hey all,

I've been reading for a few weeks now so thought it time to introduce myself. I'm a member of the UKG and wanted to get a costume that wasn't white and closed face. I spent a great deal of time looking at different things but struggled to find something that met my 2 rules:

1. It must be recognisable, instantly and without obscure knowledge or explanation.
2. It must be something that means a great deal to me, that I love and that I think I can get 'into character' with.

Well, I guess I've failed the first by a small margin but I've hit the mark on number 2! I've got myself a Colonial Marine costume, and it's fantastic.

Now I'm guessing you'll all (maybe) disagree with my thought that it's not instantly recognisable by general public but I've trooped a bit with the UKG, and been surprised at how often Biker Scouts get asked who they are. I've seen a fair few Stargators be ignored also...However I think the Colonial Marine armour probably just sets itself one step ahead of the game as it's more than just fatigues and a gun (no offence meant to any gators, I just never watched it and don't get it).

Anyhow, I'm really excited with the character, and hoping to see some action soon. I've a few things left to do...sort patches, re-paint parts of the armour, weather and blend it so it doesn't look like I've just re-painted bits, and finally adjust the strapping so there is much less surplus webbing hanging everywhere. Well, all that and getting used to how it all goes on.

To wrap up, I hope to see you all soon.

Hey all,

just following up on saying hello as I've just completed a trip out in my gear. Here is a piccie of my test fitting, not a good one,

Image

I hope to get some good shots out and about soon.

My test run has identified a few things I need to sort out and I think there are a couple of improvements I can make such as names tapes, rifle sling, IR sight.

See you all on a drop soon.

Hello Everyone! I'm Rebecca AKA Private Cheerleader, Trooper Trump, Cheerleader, the girl in the dress blues or just hey you. I got to know most of the people here through D*C, but was adopted a few years ago by the UKCM even though I live in Anaheim, CA (yes by disneyland!)

I don't have a traditional Marine uniform, instead, I modified a set of BDUs into a skirt and girly jacket. One of these days Spat will get off his fat butt and make me some armor that goes with it all. For now, I do have the full Marine Class C Women's Dress Uniform and that will have to do for now. I will get some decent pictures of my costumes and get them up here sometime.

So, Hi.

Hello there,

i´m Tom from germany. I´ve been a Fan of (the First half of) the Alien Saga since i saw "Alien" first in ´89 at Age 15. This one gives me really the creeps ;-) One of these Movies which is getting better everytime you watch it. Things getting serious for a Fanboy like me when i watched "Aliens" shortly after. Where "Alien" is a Dark Symphony, "Aliens" is Rock´n´Roll !

Being infected with the idea of getting an Colonal Marine Outfit in those Days, i spent my first paycheck as an Apprentice on an old "Star Arms" PR Kit. Well, everybody has to learn his lessons, i guess ;-)

20 years Later i ran into an Aliens BDU replica. I was Lucky to get an MAA Armor painted by Nick-A-Tron over the RPF and i´m now working on a new Pulse Rifle Kit including Sound and Light FX.

Pics will follow soon..

Tom

Well, this is my reintroduction. I havnt been on the board in a good while, i went by the user name SSnake0099 for the longest time, until my email was hacked and i was not able to remember what i changed my email password to after, which was kinda odd to begin with, since i changed it to something i always use and it wasnt working.

Anyway, its great to be back in the ranks again!

Hello all. My name is Tyler and I'm from Grand Rapids, MI. I've been a huge fan of the Alien and Predator franchises since I first watched them when I was eight years old and have always thought the colonial marines had some of the coolest duds I'd ever seen in a movie. About four years back I actually managed to get my hands on a set of Sparmor but then ran into a rough financial patch and had to turn around and sell it, which was very disappointing. Now I'm patiently budgeting for a new costume in the years to come. All I've got right now are patches and combat boots (leftovers from when I was in the Air Force) but my next step will be to acquire a set of multicam BDUs.

Greetings! My name is Chad, or Chronos, as you prefer. I recognize some names/faces here from The RPF, TCF, and other sites. Nice to see you!

I've long been a fan of the Alien series, and for a few years now I've been considering the jump into Colonial Marine territory. I've seen a number of you at Dragon*Con, and it never fails to impress!

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone a little better, and to learn more about Colonial Marine armor & weapons. Plus any info I can glean on the Alien3 commandos.

Here's my go at the first film's Nostromo uniform:
