Hey all,

I've been reading for a few weeks now so thought it time to introduce myself. I'm a member of the UKG and wanted to get a costume that wasn't white and closed face. I spent a great deal of time looking at different things but struggled to find something that met my 2 rules:

1. It must be recognisable, instantly and without obscure knowledge or explanation.
2. It must be something that means a great deal to me, that I love and that I think I can get 'into character' with.

Well, I guess I've failed the first by a small margin but I've hit the mark on number 2! I've got myself a Colonial Marine costume, and it's fantastic.

Now I'm guessing you'll all (maybe) disagree with my thought that it's not instantly recognisable by general public but I've trooped a bit with the UKG, and been surprised at how often Biker Scouts get asked who they are. I've seen a fair few Stargators be ignored also...However I think the Colonial Marine armour probably just sets itself one step ahead of the game as it's more than just fatigues and a gun (no offence meant to any gators, I just never watched it and don't get it).

Anyhow, I'm really excited with the character, and hoping to see some action soon. I've a few things left to do...sort patches, re-paint parts of the armour, weather and blend it so it doesn't look like I've just re-painted bits, and finally adjust the strapping so there is much less surplus webbing hanging everywhere. Well, all that and getting used to how it all goes on.
