The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Ahh, okay... Maybe because they were pre-release? Who knows? Really doesn't make much sense - you'd think they'd WANT publicity...

They want money, although you would think free publicity is a plus for them ¬_¬

Just a heads up that the individual movies are out now. Far as I can tell they are single disc movies.

So just by reading the back of the slipcover- they do include the theatrical and special editions of the films, but only seem to have a director's commentary track and deleted scenes. Certainly nowhere near the extras of the Anthology.

And this makes me sad... As the individual 2 disc dvd sets released after the Quadrilogy had all the extras with their respective films (with the exception of the exclusive "9th disc").

I was really hoping to have the extras of the Anthology without having to buy Alien Resurrection.

Can't you just buy the full Anthology and throw away the discs you don't want?

I would imagine that the cost of the set is a lot lower now. It is in the UK at the moment.

IMHO, Resurrection was vastly improved by the new director's version. YMMV, etc.

No it's still at full price around here ($120 or $100 on sale). The individual movies are priced at $20 each so it would have been a considerable savings to just buy Alien, Aliens and A3.

I've looked on ebay and the sets top out around the $70 mark not including shipping (which can be as much as another $20)... not really any huge savings there, and you have to go through the pain of waiting for them to arrive through the mail system.

Hopefully the Anthology will come down in price by the end of the year. The dvd sets are selling for $30 now.

And A:Res is indefensible- and yes I've watched the special edition.

I found a spelling mistake on the antology. Alien 3 disc, the display menu. It reviews the Emergency Escape Vehicle and in short instead of EEV it's EEC. FACEPALM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because the 'C' and 'V' are next to each other! :s

Man I bought mine on blueray Alien, Aliens and Alien 3 outside of the HD I would of rather just wathced my quadriligy set. There was absolutly nothing new on this one and certainly not the Burk cocoon sequence which was the only reason I bought it.

Anyone else feel this way about that?

Hold

the

phone!

I thought the Burke cocoon scene was supposed to be on this set!

I might as well just go ahead and buy the individual movies and save $60.

EDIT-

Wait! Xenosphinx did you mean you bought the Anthology boxset, or did you mean you bought the individual 3 movies you mentioned?

I have no seen no Blueray anthology only the three seperate movies I wanted. I have also seen nothing mentioning an anthology set posted on the studio site either.

Is there supposed to be an anthology set comming in Blu-Ray?

And no ive watched both versions of the films on the Bluerays theres nothing there that wasnt in the Quadriliogy

Sorry, hold on a second.

To clarify, yes there is a Burke Cocoon scene on the blu-ray anthology set. It's on disc six. And yes most content that was on the Quadrilogy is on the blu-ray with some more extras.

I think xenosphinx must be slightly weird/touched in the head, as he posts in the thread which is all about the Anthology, then says he's seen nothing about it?!

As Vito says, the Burke scene is there on the Anthology, but obv. the single BD versions won't have most of the extra content.

It's on every online and offline store since before release (including the special egg version) so really don't know how he can't find it?

Amazon.com link:

http://www.amazon.com/Alien-Anthology-B ... 082&sr=8-1

Also on the Fox online store:

http://www.foxconnect.com/alien-antholo ... creen.html

There is an official site;

Whoa let's be fair here-

We really know nothing about Xenosphinx. He could live in a small rural town for all we know with one Walmart (where they are currently selling the individual movies but not the boxset).

Re-reading his post it seems he DID buy the individual films, and they were bare bones sets as I had mentioned a few posts ago.

I meant no offence (used a  to reinforce that), but just was puzzled how someone listing their job as a Research Scientist hadn't been able to find out in Google about the boxset and the larger amount of extras on the extra discs in the boxset, and was also posting in the thread which had all the details about it. :?

Damn get insulted that fast. I took it the same way sgt. And no they dont sell the box set where I live. I have found in online now. Its just crappy that the individuals didnt have the scene. I mean look at the quadriliogy the individual (Seperate DVDS) if bought seperatly had all th e deleted scenes still there. The only thing missing were all the extras. So I thought the single blu-ray version would too. What a marketing scam.

And geesh can a fella say something without getting attacked? Reading this thread there are ALOT of posts of the single disc versions of the Blue-rays so the post seemed perfectly logical.

Having followed Clanger68's link to the Drum Roll music on YouTube I spotted this in the "Suggestions" it throws up so for those of you who always wanted to see the Burke Cocooned scene but don't want to by a Blu Ray Anthology set just for that then click the link! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zCnKbKr7eI&
