The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

That is so awesome. I am always so jealous of people with this depth of talent, considering that I don't have an ounce of artistic ability, lol. Truely beautiful work.

Thanks guys, means a lot that you like them. The project so far has taken a year . Hadleys Hope was the most demanding due to the ammount of detail I put in and the lack of reference images. I am looking to do this as a career eventually I'm not getting any younger. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. :D

I added more to the APC http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-aliens-apc-model/609742

This is a great site for what your looking for. A vast number of artists in the industry are on this site and often post jobs and info... http://www.conceptart.org/forums/index. ... 07e3b6ae64

Hope this helps.
Cheers!

Good going Paul, it's looking like you've got some pretty good models there.
If you want to work in Film/commercials/TV you need to learn Maya. If you want to work in games I think 3DS Max is the standard (Jon Murphy might want to chime in here if I have that wrong).

Keep up the good work!

Nice work Paul , just one thing though, the engines on the Narcissus as to square they need to be slightly more rounded edges , if you want i can e-mail some pictures of the model from Alien , will scan them over the weekend ..

Agreed I kind of picked it up myself and having something I am passionate about helps. OK Guys I need your help

Is there any reference pics of the apc interior about??? I can see from the film that the seating for the marines was against the wheel arches and the control room looks to be opposite the door but now I have hit a dead end. Any help would be awesome. :D

The apc interior was a set and not actually in the vehicle, so its a bit cosy inside!

This page should help: http://www.starshipmodeler.com/rv/ps_apc.htm

As an interesting aside you can see both variations of the knife carried by Colonial Marines in the second picture if you look closely!

I came across this while searching. The layout of the model is not screen accurate though the monitors and control area are opposite the door and the seating is on the wheel arches. I watched the film and as apone Packs them in they all walk to the left and Ripley and gorman take the seats nearer bishop. I have a few new images and am planning on adding activity to the monitors. Here's where I am now 8)

And with the APC layer hidden...

Just have to do the chairs, driving area and weapon rack and I'm done. 8)

I think the Platoon Commanders chair would probably be on rails (like in the Nuclear Control Bunker in Wargames) which run the length of the console rather than a free roving wheeled chair as you have pictured. I think that chair would make Gorman a bit of a "loose cannon" during a drop! ;)

I know  I was just using a chair I made for an office project as a marker. I will correct it for the next update :)
