The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Inspired by this I made this... 8)

Plenty more room for dooh-dads here n' there. Made the mistake of doing the back with MDF - damn thing weighs a ton. I just hope the adhesive putty will hold it all up...

Scratch built?

That's a nice display with room for growth! Where is the WY patch from? Is that from Alien?

Jay

p.s. I think the PR could use a little weathering, t'be honest. ;)

No, since in Alien, the company was referred to as "Weylan-Yutani".
Can't remember if those patches were on Lydecker and Simpson's workshirts, or if it's a purely fan-made patch design based on the sign seen on Hadley's Hope's wall in a few shots.

The PR is actually more weathered than it looks in the pics (and I've added more to Matt's efforts too).

Real weapons don't look like they've been dragged along a motorway for six weeks - even after many years of rough service. There's a lot of PRs out there that look absolutely ridiculous.

All personal preference of course. :)

It's a fan-made patch design. I should know, I made it!

That is to say, I was the first to have those patches manufactured, way back in the early nineties. Since then they've been copied who-knows-how-many times and appear regularly on eBay etc. What makes me laugh is that most sellers now say 'this patch, worn in Aliens'... when in fact it never was. I just thought it would be a nice patch.

I even supplied Alien War with about a dozen of them, which were stuck on the headrests in their 'EEV' set. I was told they were going to be stitched on, but they never got round to it, so the patches soon went 'missing'.

Sorry about the hijack, Eagle! :o That is definitely one of the best rifle displays I've seen. And it's really nice to see the left side for a change! Any special reason why you did that?

Basically, ID plate, butt and mono-dextrous! ;)

Nice patch - don't care if it's screen-used or not! :)
