No reason to say that, I just had an urge. Anyhow...

I've entered the London Sci-Fi festival 48hr short film challenge which takes place from 2-4 April.
It is a competition, and we can't expect to win but I think we have a fair chance of coming third or something so we'll give it a ruddy good go.
The judges include Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead), Gareth Edwards (Monsters and a previous winner).

If you enter your film will be shown in a London West End cinema later in the month.
So I've put a little team together and we're going to try to make something half decent in that short space of time.

That said, the consistently generous she-goddess that is Malika Andress has granted my request to let us film at the NSC. Some of that time will be used to shoot some scenes in the Challenger Suite (where we put on the Alien Encounter).

I am looking for twelve bodies to use in that scene, acting away at the computers, etc (a bit like in the encounter). You'll be needed for four hours tops – maybe even less. This will be a very short shoot and I'll be moving from shot to shot very quickly, with minimal lighting in order to work fast.

If you're interested please put you name down below. And if everyone that participates is willing to chuck in a fiver then you will receive a finished DVD within one month of the shoot. Plus, you'll be able to see yourself on the big screen in this cinema:

The plan is to be at the NSC on Sat April 2nd at 10am. You'll deffo be clear to leave at 5pm but as I said I'd expect it to be a lot sooner than that. I'm still scheduling and I will try to make it later, possibly 12pm.

The lead role will be played by a famous model who is also an upcoming and engaging actress. She wants in and once I've settled the details with her we can say who she is. It's no big secret but I just want to keep it quiet because it is a competition and I don't want the competition to get a handle on it, if you know what I mean. Other actors are still being sourced.

I would like people to dress as though they work at Mission Control at Nasa. White (or light coloured), short sleeve shirts, a tie, that sort of thing. No stripes or patterns. Trousers not jeans (there will be a couple of exceptions but I'll contact those people individually). Lovely ladies to wear 'sensible' office attire like a suit or pale blouse. We'll have three or four peeps in lab coats, too.

THIS IS A MEGA IMPORTANT ROLE FOR SOMEBODY.

We also need one person to go to the Apollo West End Cinema (Piccadilly Circus) at 10am on Saturday 2nd April to sign the registration form. So if someone who wants to be involved that can't get to Leicester can get to London, take the brief and sign, then you're part of the team.

This is a really important role because they'll only show the film in the cinema if we have one team member at the registration. The rest of us of course will already be at the NSC.

I was part of the 48hr film project last year - it's great fun and I highly recommend it Unfortunately I can't make it all the way down there for then

Hi guys, really hope you can make it!
Simon, I will source some hotel info and talk to Malika to see if she has any info and post up as soon as I know.

Crew and actors will be staying Friday night and some I suspect, will be staying Saturday night as well.
Although Gareth and I will have to hotfoot it back to London Saturday night so I can complete the edit on time. Gareth will be around in case I run onto any technical difficulties with tech, which is highly probable.

If it's your Birthday Si it would be a good weekend for a shindig, if we can get people up there.

I'm delighted to announce that Richie (he of the Alien Environmental Suit Project along with Steve and Danita) has very kindly volunteered to fabricate a space helmet for us.
It's great to have an artist and craftsman of this calibre onboard with us on the project and it's more than we could have hoped for. Many thanks Richie and welcome to the crew!
