The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

One of the things Ill eventually need for my film is a miniature chestburster. Im not sure how to rationalise it, maybe extracted earlier on in the gestation cycle or removed from a kid. Either way its just for the convenience of fitting it into a capsule Ive got for it.
I couldnt sleep tonight, so I decided id watch a bit of Stargate.
Spirits, Touchstone and half of The Fifth Race later, Ive managed to come up with this critter:

A couple of things to note.

He's not finished =P I still need to tidy up the edges of the back ridges, put his teeth in, smooth the rough edges and carve his belly.
This is the first thing ive sculpted, apart from a couple of rudimentary purity seals for my Commissar costume way back when.

Oh yeah, and for reference, the glass hes hugging is about 2 inches across at the base.

What do you all think?

It does look pretty good so far. It looks like you have it down to embryo size, or so it seems. I take it you crafted it out of modeling clay?

Ive got a film idea, but since I lost my job, prop building and costume making has ground to a halt. =[

This was done 2 years ago because I got sick of seeing my ideas on paper and nothing else.

Needless to say its all getting changed. If and when.

Hey I've seen that before. You posted it here I assume? I guess I forgot you made it. Can't wait to see more! I gotta go subscribe so I don't miss anything.

I hear ya on the money thing. I think my Terminator thread is going on 2 years now. Sickens me that it is taking so long.

I'd recommend not filling that with mineral oil, that will cause most any paint to peel off, and it might fog up the inside of the container if it's plastic.

Well thats him all finished. The mineral oil (Well baby oil =P ) doesnt seem to be having any adverse effect on paint or the plastic... Now I need to start again and make another one!
