The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

This year, for preparation, I am gonna eat less plus exercise more and longer. As soon as the semester starts, I am going to hit the gym and take the second stage of Kenjutsu training. For those of you who don't know what Kenjutsu is, it's a combative form of Japanese swordsmanship. In case if a Predator comes around at the D*con, the training will come in handy since I'm gonna carry a Wakazashi for some melee combat. For the record, it's a wooden one.

As they say, "If you're not hurting, you're wrong!" I bet you busted your tail with the workout you did. Great work.

I'd say you were pretty strong Stew - you managed to carry me!!! :/ I'm currently working purely on weightloss due to having ate too much over the christmas period :/ At last count I've got between 11 and 19lbs to lose. :) Totally doable :)

Exercise-wise I'm dreadful because I get incredibly bored incredibly quickly. I just do what I can to increase my heart rate (no filthy jokes please!!!) It's normally just dancing about the house like an idiot while I do the housework. :/

That's some solid advice there!

One thing that will be difficult is eating 7 times a day. I have trouble with 5 meals sometimes. But you definitely need to eat smaller meals more often- you'll never feel hungry!

That's good man!

Any idea how many calories you are consuming?

Try not to go "too" low (say less than 1500) as you'll be sacrificing muscle tissue. That muscle is precious as it helps increase your metabolism.

Just understand that it is a slow process. Quick weight loss is usually never permanent; mostly because you can't keep the super-low calorie diet up for long, and then you gain the weight back when you start eating more calories.

Best of success Bro! :delta:

I added a bit of a kick for my Kenjutsu training. I am wearing tactical gloves with the Kevlar knuckles for added weight for when I hold the bokken. That sure does wear my arms out after all the cutting and blocking I do. As for the fitness center, my target is to work out at least an hour each day or more. I am alternating on the exercises in the fitness center so that I can use as much of the equipment as possible in each hour I am attending. Starting next week when my late start class comes around, I will be restricted to working out on only Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. However, I am also planning on doing rock climbing up a hill near the home. I started out from 220 and lowered down to 215, and I am hoping on dropping more since I am exercising more and consuming less food than I normally should. I am keeping myself hydrated of course when I either exercise or do a lengthy walk around the town. I am spending less time on the computer and keeping myself busy with homework and the final stages of the PR construction. My cravings have been gone since the semester started due to going to sleep at a specific time, and I have been getting proper sleep again. I don't feel stressed from classes due to exercising quite often, so I guess I am off to a good start on this.

Don't feel bad about chin ups Bro.

I can only bang off ten in a row. And I weigh 155.

Keep abstaining the junkfood Bro! It gets easier. The longer you stay away from the stuff, the more you will be able to "go without".

But much like an alcoholic, falling off the wagon will ruin you. Once you start eating "bad food" (even just as a reward or on a cheat day), the more tempted you will be to just say "F it" and start eating that stuff again.

Me, I love chips and dip. In particular Helluva Good Dip-

Image

Love this stuff. You put a tub of this in front of me with a bag of chips, and I'll eat it until it hurts.

I eat chips and dip once a year; usually at my Mother in Law's house at Xmas (so I just recently ate my quota  ).

To eat it any more often is to risk disaster. I just love that stuff too much!

Keep it up Bro!
