The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

a few of us have been talking about putting together an ODST squad.
Found a guy in America that sells reasonably priced vac formed armour kits, with a resin helmet. Were going to be ordering a couple of sets, and was wondering if anyone else fancys coming in on a group buy?

Price including UK shipping works out -
Full suit (armour, Helmet, Visor, Gloves) $495 USD
Armour and gloves (no helmet) about $350

I'm guessing, like just about any other bought costume, this is sized for midgets? ;)

Any sizing/height-range guide for this?

it'll fit any size i guess. All the armour pieces are separate, and attatch to a leather undervest. so you can just adjust them to sit right however tall you are

Actually, if we were to just assume that most people can't do it this month with Xmas coming up and said that the order would be in January then that might be better. Would probably make for a better sign up list anyway, do you think?

Skapunkninja
Friendlyskies 1 x full set (pending confirmation of helmet size)

Cheers

after xmas is definatly the best idea. so hopefully the order will be made in January. it could take a month to get them all made, so hopefully he might even take a deposit until theyre ready, gives abit more saving time.

Skapunkninja -Just armour + gloves
Friendlyskies -1 x full set (pending confirmation of helmet size)
Nathan - Just armour and gloves

As I said before, I'm still on the fence about this. I really can't afford it but I really want to have an ODST to go with Bri's Master Chief. Damn money! The cause of all my woes... ;)

regarding the helmet size -
The guy says that his head is 24", and the helmet fits him with loads of room to spare for foam and electrics. Also says he's never had one returned because its too small.

he sent me a few pics of a squad in Singapore he's just kitted out -

one thing he did tell me though, is that in order to keep them cheap without loosing detail, they have been vac formed with fairly thin plastic. They can be worn like that, but its best to cover the backs with fibreglass to add strength.

I have one of those suit kits (so does Rex). I have finished the helmet, but don't
have the armor done (story of my life lately).

The helmet has 2 visors, one blue external and a smoke/black internal which is removeable and held in place with velcro. The vents in the chin have screens in them, and the two spaces on the back I also cut out and added screens as well to help with venting. Still needs padding, but overall is pretty nice.

Hey Rich

Can you check another measurement on his helmets for me please. It sound like the circumference will be OK for me but that said I was able to get my head into your current helmet but then had about 3 inches of the bottom of my face still exposed. Could you check with him how high the helmet is please?

Cheers

Darren
