The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I like how it's the exact same strap, one's Austrian and more expensive than the identical Swiss one.

Well after reading the descriptions as well as checking the pics and prices I discovered that;

$19.97 gets you 20 x New Austrian Military Straps, Olive Drab Each is about 67"l., 1"w.

$17.97 gets you 20 x Swiss Military Straps in 2 lengths: ten 80 cm (31 1/2") long and ten 150 cm (59") long.

So in my book the Austrians are the better buy because you can always shorten them if you need to!

And there was me thinking 3 Stripes meant you could read, write and do Maths!

Love ya really Dom! ;-)

Yeah, they could be used for all the "small" straps on the armor/shin guards.
You could use them for the sides of the torso too, but they're only 1" as
opposed to 1.5" wide.

That's only one size though.

Armour needs 1"+ 1.5" side release buckles + 1" cam locks

There are cheaper sources for plastic buckles.

I paid 22 cents for 1in buckles from Gerald Schwartz.

Were they green plastic, or black? I haven't found green 1.5" or the cams.

We have used them for our armor here. They are green and already attached to the straps, make sputting armor together a snap. One or 2 of us have used bigger buckles on the side of the armor.

Yep, I've never seen green ones; just black plastic painted green.

Granted that green plastic ones weren't used in the film, but if they had been available, don't you think they WOULD have been used?
I mean they went so far as to paint black ones green. Seems perfectly logical to me. Hell, they painted the Black webbing OD as well
in some cases, didn't they? Seems logical to use OD webbing for a replica from the start.

People wear modern camo and boots but gripe about the buckles??? and just a heads up so you know, the straps are nylon.
anyway, people had asked in the past so I just posted you could get them again, never said they were SA hence the quick and dirty part.
