The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Although not an official drop, I attended Wizard World Texas in Austin this past weekend. Friday was kind of dead, since it was a work day, or I assume that's why. Saturday morning and afternoon, I dressed as Captain America and in the evening, in my signature Blue Falcon. Sunday, I checked out of my hotel and changed into my USCM gear in the parking garage a block away. I walked to the convention center and while I was outside, I was approached by four of Austin's finest. It seems someone called in a "terrorist" walking around with a big gun. Yep, that was me. (one took off before my friend got out his camera)

I believe this does count as a drop, any attendance at a con in USCM related costume is, even if you're the only one.

I think.

Your armor looks great by the way. :) What did the officers have to say? And what's the one on the bike doing? Looks like he has some sort of computer in the bag on the back?

Ooohhh, do I get a ribbon?

No, they didnt touch the PR. I think the cop was about to call someone.

It was fun, despite being the only one there.

Did the cops ask you any questions? Did you aide them by answering honestly and accurately?

The cop in the ballcap looked like the only one who "got" it. What did the cops say about your PR?

Well I'm glad they "got" it. I didn't fare so well when the Border Guards thought I was a terrorist.

Congratulations on your first official Drop Wes! Looking badass! :delta:

So tell us- did anyone at the convention recognize that you were from "Aliens"?

Oh yeah, lots of people recognized what I was. Even one of the cops knew, which I think played in my favor.

It was a fun event all around.

Yup, head over here:

Depending on how many public were at the event depends which ribbon you get. Ask Dom if in doubt. :D

What's ironic is that the guy who administers the ribbons asked you some questions... and they were totally ignored!

Huh? I thought I answered everything, but I see I didn't. Sorry Dom!

The only thing they really asked was if I was in the parking garage, which it was. They put 2 and 2 together and figured out I was the so called terrorist. I told them the PR was fake but one if them knew what I was dressed as.

It's probably just my eyes, but I love how the cop in the middle looks like he's levitating in the first pic! ;)

Well then, I think your brush with the law and your eagerness to answer all their questions qualifies you for "Aid to the Civil Power".
