The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

That looks like a big empty space between the butt plate and magazine well.
Is there something that could be whacked in there, maybe?

Some kind of surface detail could be scribed in or something to make it not so empty.
It has to be solid in that general area though, as that's where the gearbox and motor goes. Otherwise I would have scooped that area out and done some cutouts.

As it is it's a good spot for grafiti. :)

Because this experimental bulpup rifle has been mocked up in screen accurate colours.

Simple?

Matt, if you've lengthened the rifle barrel, how about the grenade launcher too so you can maintain the pump action in the design?

Guestimating the scale, the Bullpup is almost as long as a full size PR.
Adding a pump would not give you much ammo capacity at all. Maybe 2 rounds at best...
You'd have better luck with a forward-hinged, rear-loading single shot grenade launcher.

Really?
I admit I don't know the exact dimensions of these things (gave all my gearbox bits to Rich), but I'm imagining the motor still inside the grip and the gearbox/piston assembly behind and above the magazine well, with a belt or shaft-drive linkage between the two.
That'd leave a tobacco-tin-sized space in the lower half of the stock, just a bit below the cheek piece, which could house something like 3-4 grenades or a cleaning kit.

I am probably wrong, so please feel free to set me straight :)

i agree with this and i imagine that the tobacco tin sized thing might be where the grenades for the grenade launcher go.

In order to make a working airsoftand have the magazine insert where it's supposed to insert... the motor, gearbox and piston all need to be in the rear of the gun, you cannot relocate any of these parts. The front grip is just a dummy.

Image

Yes there is some spare space between the motor and the mag well but in my opinion it would not look right having the mag ewll hanging down, having that area cut out and then go back down to cover the motor.

As for putting a pump GL on front I am going to have to pass on that one. It would add too much weight and length and run contrary to the spirit of the bulpup anyway. What you are describing has already beeen done... it's a four foot long monstrosity called the Morita!

But seriously Matt, how many of us would need to be interested to buy such a creation if you were to make it?

If I had the cash, I'd buy one. It keeps to the general "theme" of the setting without just being a repaint of an existing item.
Repainting a G36 or Masada Bess Brown-Green does NOT make it an Aliens weapon. ;)

Saying that, Rookie, i think a bullpup Pulsey would suit a pilot pretty well. Bit more hefty than sidearm.

It's a custom built laser tag gun, but it's a bullpup design. Even designated the M41BP.

Though I prefer the design Matsuo has been teasing us with.
