The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

HMMMM Labcoats!!! Now there's a thought I still have a bright red one I had to wear years ago! Ideal for a Company Bio-weapons guy (doesn't show the blood! ).

Rex_equinox, I just read your story, what happened is horrible (also considering all the rest that happened in the same weekend, personally I would have cracked up badly).

The priceless part though, is that you gave the little chav a black eye. I would pay for such a honor

That's why I wouldn't go as a marine, the temptation to beat up these chavs would be too much for me, I would get kicked out of the event
Nah I'm not the type, but these vandals deserve a good punch when they go too far. Good for you for "adjusting" him

I'm scared to attend events now!

If anyone tries the like with me, they'll get a PR stock to the gums. Especially if I've had my sustanon!

Joke.

I want to attend as many events as I can. I could really do with meeting new people right now, and I'm looking forward to eventually becoming 'part of the gang'.

I'd be more than happy to spot any creature, all day.

So if I make an arrangement with a creature, be assured I won't leave his/her side.

I did notice from time to time that people loved to tug at the tubes on the back of my costume. That got abit anoying. But it is great to have support from the marines! You guys are more than a godsend!!

At Collectormania a few weeks back, I always had a minder. (thanks guys!) But IF you ever consider wearing a creature outfit - always ask for assistance! Falling over or bumping into certain marines (wildone) lol sorry mate! I've got so many blind spots i kept bumping into you!! lol goodtimes!

Bri

I found being the minder very very fun! :) Get to talk with lots of people asking the same question over and over again "Is he your freind? What costumes that? Is it expensive? Can I PLEASE have a photo with him???" :D This was at the MCM Expo, it gives Marines some photo time to 8) and lots of free hugs!

I can't believe I just discovered this thread. I am sorry what happened that weekend Rex. :(

I missed the Tail incident but caught the aftermath when the same little shits tried to take on Paulo. I also am sorry for the mix up and break down in communication of the lift to MK. Jen had no room in the car for both cases and I could just about fit in myself.

Emma was new to the spotting thing so I won't go down that road but you should have been spotted by someone.

Expo is a whole new experience in costume and made more difficult by the claustrophobic enviroment. I am planning on taking Alfie this May but will be extra cautious.

Don't let it discourage you these twats have no life, one came at me with a plastic knife outside and tore the fishnet in the process, it seems it's "big of them" to attack a movie creature :?

In conclusion try and ignore them in future or as I like to say "Xeno evil hear no evil"

OMG sorry to hear what happend to you Rex that sucks big time . Ive heard many horror stories over the time Ive been costuming , but they are isolated & should never put you off . Hope you get it fixed soon .

Ive had a few hairy moments in my time & found a few things that help you avoid some situations . Ive often put myself with a wall behind me & let the punters come to me , you can avoid some of the free hugs / glompers catching you out at Expo .

Ive been with the UKG for while now & even with the allocated spotters , we still have to watch each others backs & some people that are there to keep an eye on you , don't have the experience to spot the signals until its too late . Since moving away from doing Star Wars costumes & doing movie costumes , I often don't need a spotter or have a spotter so you think more about watching your own & each others backs .
