The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

The wings were made by fellow board member Mike Rush.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe they are no longer available.

These were an idea by Teckno Viking which we then co-designed (along with input from the Board).

The first issue was in 'antiqued' pewter:

Then there was a set in 'polished silver' finish:

Unfortunately, like the sarge said they all sold out.

There are gold ones too, but they only go to recipients of the Aliens Legacy Gold Award.

Maybe someone should check out the auction, are these AL wings, or is someone recasting?

Yep that is the ones i saw there was just a pic of of them on google i thought they were very nice and would love a set. Right now i think silver would be the best way to go. since it is cheap right now. Any chance we could get another run going? I know i would buy 2 if i could get them done in silver.

They were recast and someone tried to sell them.
There was a thread on it a while ago...but I'm unable to search right now.

If I recall he was shut down.

I'm lucky enough to have all 3 and they truly are awesome!!

I suppose that would be me. The problem is that the badge company has a minimum order of 50 (regardless of finish). So while it's nice that you'd buy two, I'd still be buying the other 48! That's why there's been no re-order.

Maybe start and Interest list?

Take payment up-front, Mike - I know you're trustworthy ;)

Aw, thanks. :)

I'm afraid I have a sort of personal vow never to do that whole interest list/pre-payments thing, as I've seen them go wrong on various boards so many times.

If you take names until there's enough to warrant production, most likely half of them will vanish after you have the things made.

If you take pre-payments, they have no way of knowing how long they will have to wait, or even that you won't just run off with the money.

That's why whenever I have done 'runs' in the past I would buy the thing, then sell the thing. That's it. No messing around and no risk to anyone else. I kind of understand why most people do it the other way, but it's not how I choose to do business.

You could do it this way;

Set up a WTS/Interest thread, asking for names/numbers/finishes of badges needed,

stating that all names have to be given within a set time (say 2 weeks), with all monies needed within 5 working days from that cut off date and not accepting any "I hope to pay you in a week or two....ish." statements.

That way you're only holding any cashy monies for up to 5 days prior to ordering the wings made. :)

How much would 2 sets of wings be, in silver? I'm interested, definately, and that's 4 sets sold. I reckon if the price was decent enough you could flog them all.

There could be more interest within the Maryland company. A few of us older guys have them, but we've grown in numbers since the run ended. We'll ask around.

I'd be in for one...preferably in pewture, but if only one finish were to be done, and it be other than pewture, I'd still be in.
