As some may have already read alot of my question on the fanfilm I am filming,....I have one more...I am making some pilot costumes, and my question is about the patches and helmet...the helmets are not screen accurate, made from tanker helmets[US] but I fabricated the visors...As for the patches, The front ones are from the dropship pilots[aliens] however I have another patch that says USS SARATOGA MEDICAL CORPS. Would it be plausible that the saratoga had many pilots/many dropships that could have been on missions/ or maybe on leave...kinda like an aircraft carrier of today...some time the planes land on land bases...or there pilots are on holiday etc...would be easy to just scratch those patches from the costumes...but I kinda like em...hmmm unless in my fanfilm, the saratoga has yet to have its little mis-hap...any one know the time line [year] the saratoga went Ka-boooom. might help in the story line.

It is perfectly feasible that this Saratoga would have more than one Pilot, yes.
The Sulaco had two Dropships, suggesting that it normally supports a bigger force than that sent to LV426. Additionally, the armoury would have probably equipped the team about four times over, again suggesting a much bigger force.

With so many people and so many Dropships, Ferro can't fly them all at once. Ergo, you'd need several pilots.

Yes she is and she is "like an aircraft carrier" carrying numerous smaller fighter bomber craft. But in your fan-film there's no reason you can't have a USS Saratoga too since most navies re-use ships names!

''DARN''...Did a little research and I think PUG was right...some idiot assured me that the patches I bought for my ''pilots'' were from the alien movies. I did buy three blue dropship patches...but also bought three ''uss saratoga medical corpes'' patches. But I cannot find any reference to a ship named ''saratoga'' in aliens.......however There is one in a tv series called space above and beyond....[thanks pug].....but as Wench stated that doesn't mean that my fanfilm can't have a saratoga. I just won't ''pan in.'' on the pilots patches while filming...what was the name of the medical friggette in alien resurection...was it the AROGA.???

The name of the ship in A:Res was the Auriga.

I wouldn't exactly describe it as a medical frigate though...

More like a house of horrors/ military research vessel.

Agreed...It was a creepy ship...even the medical staff, had that eery-ness to them....where the security crew marines...or just a hired security force.

It was 200 years after Aliens- so the USCM might not exist any longer.

The security force was the military (just not Marines)- they were called the United Systems Military.

Thats not good...but then again I havn't realy set up a time frame for my movie,. I wan't it a few years after ''Alien's'' maybe ten. But my security force will definatly be marines...Is there anything in the stories of a united nation's force...as maybe US. marines and british Marines..kinda a joint force...[be nice to mix up the nationalities in the film] maybe a german or british pilot stationed at the base,...could be cross-training.
