The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Have a read of my guide, linked in my sig at the bottom of this post. :)

My guide was originally hosted elsewhere, then I had to put it in the current position, so a few of the pages/menu links don't go anywhere and the larger set of images have been left off to save space. Just take the page in the link as the 'first' page and then on from there. :)

One thing to be wary of, which I didn't realise at the time; the hex head bolts all go on the outside of the rifle, as shown here:

I got confused when building it, having only the awfully crappy pics that came with it to go by, using the wrong bolts on a few internal sections and then not having the right ones to secure the two shroud halves at the end, by which time I'd glued a few bits to stop them squeaking, so couldn't take it apart to swap the bolts.

You'll also probably find that the stock locking mechanism won't work well, if at all. It's not very well designed/put together, so just follow the guide and see how long it lasts. :)

+1 to all above.

I used PVB's guide and mine came out fine apart from the stock locking mech. I just put a screw through it into the hole for the Thompson rear sights and its locked out at a comfortable length.

Also, Id either drill out or not bother at all with the fiddly wee b*stard push pin thingys. Cracked my shroud cause I didnt have a dremel at the time to drill the holes bigger. Youve got plenty of points holding the 2 halves of the shroud together anyway IMO.

Good luck!

Congratulations! I should be joining you in a couple of weeks. I've the same kit and gun, but I'm adding a few "extras" as soon as the weather warms up so I can work in the garage.

You've a sweet looking gun! Again, congrats! :)
