The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Where can i get a static LED counter? The one i have is more of an orange colour than red. I might have a go at putting red film over the top of my existing one but i'd like to know where to get them anyway.

I know about those but i don't need the whole circuit. I already have the circuit that came with the Spulse. Just want the counter really. I'm just being awkward

If I remember correctly Maplins and Rapid both have grey faces on their LED Displays, which don't look quite as nice IMO. :?

RS ones definitely have the Black face.
These I think - http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/sear ... &R=2497771 - check digit sizes

Downside is RS's set postage of around a fiver per order is quite steep unless you are ordering quite a few things.

A pic showing how the grey and black ones look.
Black looks much better and is what is used on most.

If you end up with a grey counter, a bit of smoked perspex will sort it out, as Matsuo provided with my old pride and joy

I've been thinking about replacing the duff display on my Spulse with a BLUE LED 7-seg! Just to help the Xenos out a little bit more!

ok fair enough. Will go with black. I still want to see if maybe a bit of tinted plastic will sort my colour problem out but havent got round to it yet.

The tinted plexi makes a world of difference. Does your current counter have one?
I've seen people run counters without the tint, and with it. I was amazed myself
at how much of a difference there was in just being able to READ the numbers with
and without the tint in place.

It makes a big difference.

Ah, okay. The tint/filter might be enough to bring the "orange" color down to a more manageable "red."

Does anyone have a source for the tint film? I bought a set of theatrical gels for my Ghostbusters
proton pack, but the "smoke" color wasn't one of them.

Seriously, I'd go with the smoked "color." I had red film with my old GEM Reproductions kit, and it looked... off. Swapped in a bit of the smoked film that came from mystery source, and it looked much better. But that is MY personal opinion.
