The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Got the Brown Bass edition so if James Cameron ever visits my house and sees the replica, he won't berate me for misinterpreting his vision.

We have an order placed for one of the BB rifles... and today I got in one of Matsuo's rifles and suddenly my heart sank... Are we absolutely SURE the HCG rifle has the kind of aluminum shrouds we think... and NOT COLD CAST ALUMINUM shrouds? Just reassure me and tell me I am wrong. That is all I want to hear. Like so many others, we ordered the HCG for the metal shrouds and I would be MEGA-upset if it came in and the "alumnimun" shrouds were cold cast aluminum resin.

there would be an absolute uprising if they , falsely advertised this prop , I think it would finish them in the prop community , so im pretty sure they are aluminum aluminum .

I think it's safe to say that they will NOT be cold cast aluminum.

There is no second "i" depicted for this element on the periodic table. Nor does any decent production vehicle, that I am familiar with, include a "bonnet".

That's because the tables you read are written by Americans.

The UK written ones spell it the UK way:

Uhuh.

All are either low volume, long dead, or ... less than wonderful. I admit, most of them I dismiss from anecdotes and second-hand evidence. But, I'm British - we're meant to be nationally self-loathing.

From personal experience, I have a particular dislike for Land Rovers (of all eras/models); hated every one I've driven, and 2 out of 4 broke down while I had the use of it. I love Jaguars, but they seem just as unreliable.

I've never driven a British Vauxhall, but I believe that is because they've all rotted to dust.

I've never driven an MG, unless you count an MG Maestro ... nuff said.

I've driven a Triumph Acclaim - it was lovely - the worst Japanese car I've ever driven. ;)

The British car industry was great before the late 60s. But I'm talking about my lifetime - when it was either crap or not actually British.

Nothing like keeping a thread on topic. :)

Wha?!?! ...this has to do with manufacturing developments, delivery, and consumer feedback. ...BTW, it may have been a British gent to have discovered the "Al" element, after all. I'll need to look into this.

Come on guys, you cant possibly ignore the Z06 Vette. Hell even the base model with 400 HP is a bargain beast. While Im at it, we also build the worlds best full size trucks.

Don't get me wrong, I gravitate toward British cars. I have owned an Esprit S4, XJ6 and my current ride is a 99 Range Rover 4.6. Wive drives a XJ8. My GM developed Esprit was the most reliable. I think because they used already known reliable electrical components. The tail lights were from a Toyota.

Back on topic, I think we can rest assured that the shrouds are indeed metal. There are members here who have been in development with HCG and would have alerted us otherwise.

Well, the Brits. still have the ultra-luxury segment sewn up. Local roads here in Hong Kong are so full of Aston Martins & Bently's that you swear your see more of those than the Honda Civics. I can't imagine dropping 600,000 USD on those cars though. Mainland Chinese pay a million dollars for those. Me .. I'm happy getting 8.6 liters to a 100km in my RX400H. ;)

So if these things were shipped to Propstore as soon as they landed in America, do people already have them, then?

I still have a feeling the shrouds will be CNC or sand cast aluminum.

Can't wait to see...
