Okay Guys and Gals, this year I've been drafted to make arrangements for our annual dinner/awards night at Dragon Con. This will be my first time organizing an event like this so please bear with me. :)

To keep this simple (and as it was the most popular of the three) I will be making reservations for the Saturday evening dinner at Max Lager's. Anyone wanting to get together for Friday or Sunday evening will dine ala carte at the restaurant of their choice.

So this thread will be for Saturday evening at Max Lager's only.

Unless anyone hated last year's menu we will be doing the same meal this year. And if you did hate the food... TOUGH BANANAS! :wink:

At this time this is just a sign up list to see how many are interested in attending. No deposit monies will be required for now. In order to make this feasible we need a minimum of 50 attendees. The more the merrier of course but anything less than 50 and the cost per plate increases considerably.

At a later date you will be given a PayPal address to pay a 50% deposit.

For this copy and paste sign up list, please write the next corresponding number (01, 02, 03 etc), your first and last name, and your screenname.

If you have any guests attending that are not a member of our board please write their name down on a SEPARATE line with the next following number and (_____'s guest) as the screenname. Keeping everyone on a separate line makes it much easier for me to keep track of the number of people attending.

EXAMPLE HOW THIS WORKS:

01- Kevin Burton (SSgt Burton)
02- Nancy Burton (Kevin’s guest)


PLEASE DO NOT WRITE:

01- Kevin and Nancy Burton

OR

01- Kevin Burton and guest

(For anyone wondering--- No my wife will not be coming with me this year :wink: )


Now not to sound harsh, but please sign up only if you are attending D-Con this year, and plan on attending the dinner.

Let's say 75 people sign up: If I do the math and ask for a deposit based on 75 attendees, and a bunch of people back out at the last minute (or don't show up Saturday night at D-Con) it leaves the people who did attend stuck with paying the balance for those non attendees. THAT can get expensive in a big hurry. :(

Of course sometimes real life throws a curve ball that you didn't see coming, so please let me know here as quickly as possible if you cannot attend. A simple "Sorry I'm out (and/or any guests)." is all I need to know. :)

Kevin, just a reminder that I special ordered the Paypal Visa card we talk about last year just for Aliens Legacy events such as this...this will help any currency conversion problems....If you still want, everyone can Paypal me....BUT THIS IS TOTALLY UP TO YOU...Im just throwing in that idea since Dom had such an ordeal last year with currency problems.....

So, I understand there will be tough bananas on the menu? I love it! Once more Kevin, please call on me for any help you will need to organize this monster. I'm sure by September you'll be pleased to announce the next gonzo who has to take care of it. :lol:

If I recall correctly it was under $50 per person (maybe $46?) with a $21 deposit well in advance and the balance paid at the dinner itself.

But don't quote me on that price just yet. We may have more than 50 attendees which will help lower the cost.

For the menu going by the old thread there was mixed greens salad and the main dishes were Shrimp and Steak kebabs (or kabobs :wink: ) and vegetarian lasagna made with Portobella mushrooms, eggplant, ricotta, parmesan and mozzarella cheeses.

I'll say that I am most definitely NOT a vegetarian and I LOVED the lasagna!

On the side were sauteed vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. Peach cobbler was for dessert (and was outstanding).
