The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Ok, for 10 years now I've been making Marine Armor to order. I've always done my best to make sure that anyone that ordered gear from me was happy with what they got out of the box, no matter what.

Let's be honest, I don't turn much of a profit from Armor, anyone who has gotten a set of my armor can attest to how much work goes into the final product. And when measured against what it cost, you always come out ahead of me.

Sadly (or awesomely), Wizard Entertainment contacted me yesterday about coming on board and working at their conventions. There was a lot of back and forth, but ultimately they made me an offer that I just could not refuse.

So as of today, I am the Convention Coordinator for Wizard. That means I am running, or helping run Wizard World Philly, Chicago Comic Con and The Big Apple National.

This is a full time, 9-5, Monday to Friday type job, with weekend work thrown in on top of it.

So this means I can no longer accept Marine Armor orders. It's just not going to be possible for me to work a full time job and make armor to order.

All orders currently in hand will be finished in due time of course, but as of tomorrow night (April 16th), I'll be pulling all the armor out of the SpatCave store.

Resin kits will remain, but the armor will be on hold.

I know people are going to be pissed, so here's my plan. In my spare time, once all the armor orders I currently have are shipped, I'll sit down and make 2 sets of armor. One with a Large Ab Pad, and one with a Regular Ab Pad. I'll also make a steel helmet and a plastic helmet. Once they are complete and ready to go, I'll post pics and info on the suits in the PX here. First come, first served as it were. If they don't sell here in a week, I'll pop them on eBay. I'll try and do that once a month or so.

But that's the current plan. I'm sooooo sorry to have to do this, but working for Wizard is my dream job and I know for a fact that I will not have the time to take orders directly anymore. But I still want to make sure that people can get awesome armor at an awesome price.

The only other option I had was to double the price of armor to scare people away and get them not to order it unless they really, really wanted it. But I think this is best, and will always make sure that the members of the Aliens Legacy board get first dibs on my gear.

Feel free to gripe and hate me now.

:(

I think most will be happy for you in getting your dream job.
I am glad you will be still offering some of your items.
Especially since a welder and more mags are on my IRS list(4-24).

Fantastic news, Mr. Spat!!!

Hey, nothing to gripe about really, is there?
This just means that once a month you'll have a set of armour already produced, so when someone comes to order you can take payment in full and ship it out there and then, right? Still a win-win all round!

One of those sets will be mine... :D

Seriously, well done fella.

Spat, I don't think you have a single thing to apologise about.

You have to take care of number one and even in your post you can tell how excited this next venture is for you - and I don't think a single person here will accept your apology as it's not needed whatsoever.

I'll be buying armour from you in the future so I'll be looking out for your PX posts, as and when you put them up. Judging by people's awesome comments when they receive the armour I can wait a few more months for what will be 1st class armour! :)

Good luck Spat, and congratulations!!

Conspatulations!
I'll echo the sentiment - Don't be daft, you have nothing to apologise for!

Maybe you could outsource some of the work? There's a guy in England with some experience of making armour you could call ;)

Seriously - Doing things the way you now will be may even work better for folk as if they time their request right they could end up with armour with no wait time!

Congrats Spat!

Just yesterday night I was showing your store to the better half... how ironic. Guess I might be looking at the PX store in the upcoming months. If someone's pissed that you decided to accept such an awesome job, they are morons. Again, congrats.

Just one more voice raised in congratulations, man! I'll be keeping an eye out for those month PX posts, and I know there's already a plan in MD to keep any armor "in house" if the guys upgrade to metal.

Spat....work 9-5....thats 5pm right??

Congratulations sir!!
You were just offered your dream job and you took it, everyone would do the same thing.

Firstly you have nothing to apologise for....nothing at all.
This will just a) make the armor go higher on eBay as its now going to be a rarer commodity and b) no one here will suffer because we get first dibs.

So you get your dream job, we stilll get the armor and those who will get it from eBay will have to fight for it.

Whats to apologise for?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Keep the family to the North in mind too, the only downer is now I won't be able to get longer leg armor.

Man I might have to go to Wizard World Philly this year just to see Spat in charge
