Who was the orginal designer of the alien for the films? Just wanting to know who thought of such a badass creature

You've asked a few questions there, really. You'd have to credit Dan O'Bannon, Ron Shussett who thought up a lot of the 'badass' stuff such as the face hugger and chestburster. Roger Dicken designed the chestburster -- not Giger as many believe, although he worked on it initially.

Not forgetting Ridley Scott who picked two of Gigers designs for the Space Jockey and Alien adult (big chap as they called it) from one of Gigers books before Giger was even involved in the film (Scott took one of HRGs pictures and redrew it in the chair with the overhead scope to design the jockey/pilot.

And then of course, HRG takes it up to eleven for the amazing things you see on film. So really, in all fairness, it was a true team effort. Even though, understandably, the credit mostly falls to Giger.


Four letters begining with 'T' -- shall you say it or shall I?

Its a team effort, you get the initial artist (or artists) in charge of the design, then you get the director/production designer/art director who oversees the project who guides the artist to the final end result. Usually an artist is hired because of a specific look. All the best artists out there all have a unique style. Giger, Foss, Cobb, Mead, Jim Burns, Peter Elson.

And so on, they all have unique styles which tells them apart from all the others.
