Thanks Kev, appreciate the kind words, you must do yours, it makes all the difference on the lid.

Absolutely stunning! You've done an amazing job, Andy!
Thanks Vick, but the really hard work was done by the guys who researched and made the kits.

I like!!!
If I'm to be honest, I think it looks juuuust a touch too clean.
Ta Woody, I looked at weathering it and I couldn't settle on a way to do it. As I said it's weathering itself, Karyn throws it around enough!

j/k

Excellent work clang dude!
Thanks Rusti, it was good fun and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, even though I was rushed by Mr Friendlyskies!!!

Where do you get the surplus helmet from?
The one Karyn is using was from ebay, unissued and still in the helmet bag, instructions, earplugs, the whole lot. Got it for around £120 if I remember correctly, an absolute song!
I then bought a cheap busted up SPH shell (ebay again), so I could practise the cutting techniques on it. If you can do this I'd highly recomend it.
I now have an extra large one for myself, ebay again, courtesy of a big pointer by Sidewinder, which I hope to turn into a Spunkmeyer soon.
I think they still turn up pretty frequently at militaria fairs, ebay and surplus stores, prices vary hugely though.
