The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

HCG just sent out for pre-order of the Alien bust.

Quote:
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the theatrical release of ALIEN, Hollywood Collectibles Group is proud to present this life size bust of one of the most iconic creatures in science-fiction history.

Created from the same molds that were used to create the original creature and accurately painted using an original Alien costume for reference, this is a must have for any Alien fan and a spectacular addition to your Alien collection.

Strictly limited to just 500 pieces worldwide.

Paul F used to sell the head busts. I have one of the raw kits of the head. I did not get it from him. I am putting mine together as we speak. I do not have the upper torso. They are hitting Alien fans hard with both this and the PR.

I am waiting for my Aliens bust to arrive so I can start on it.

Thanks!

Greg

Saving pics for reference and noticed something. Are the colors off? It may be my monitor or the lighting in the pics but there is a lot of brown. All my other reference photos and items, figures/SideShow busts, of the original show a more purple hue. Anyone else see this?

from memory.... Giger painted the Alien shades of greens and browns... he does say what colours in the book Giger's Alien when Cameron made Aliens a different paint scheme was used... most figures / bust now a days seem to use the second film as painting guide..

We saw this bust this weekend and spoke with thr painter. It is in fact brown, a great paint job but it is brown.
We're wondering if the reference photo's were agwd throwing the colors off.
Great paint job though
We'll post photo's once we're home

I remember Howard Berger described the original suit as having black painted hard macaroni glued all over it for texture, black painted bottle caps at the waist and black Converse shoes with slip latex covering for feet. I believe the Alien warrior had brown tones for 3 and Resurrection. I know the suits for Aliens had stark highlights to catch the lighting and disguise the man in the suit look. I just always preferred the darker colors and the HCG pics are definitely brown. That is just my opinion but otherwise a great looking piece with the added shoulders. Can't wait to see the pics of the autual piece. :D

Thanks!

Greg

 Boy that's a lot of money. I'd go the PR any day, but as people say, a very nice piece.
