The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I have a set of armour comming from Spat, my question is re-guarding belts. I see there is a webbing belt included in the armour package. Now does the holster for the VP70 go on this aswell as the green fabric packs/pouches and also the belt tool kit and welder.?
And is there anouther belt I should be sourcing that goes through the trouser eyes to hold the trousers up? If so what type of belt is this, so I can hunt for one?

Cheers guys

Depends on what you prefer, chap.

Apone carried a VP70 holster, I believe.
IIRC, his was carried a bit higher than belt level.

Others varied.
Unfortunately, I don't have any screen reference shots to hand, but they're about in other threads.

Have a quick search, see what Frost did.
As for the other belt - Look closely at the scenes before the Ready Line, when everyone's running about in T-shirts.

Apone carried his holster on his right grenade strap IIRC. Frost and Dietrich wear theirs low on their right leg. It's hard to make out but it kind of looks like it's attached with string to the webbing belt and then tied around their leg to stop it moving around too much.

As for holding up your trousers pretty much any 1" OD webbing belt should do, though I'd stay away from the one's with the side release clips.

Oh that's easy enough to replicate then, Marcel...
Just copy the strapping arrangements of a Drop Leg Holster. One evening with a needle and thread.

Get a couple of clips and some webbing from a shop... or beg a free 6-foot sample off of a commercial manufacturer, like I did ;)

My MAA VP70 holster has a big enough bit at the back to go on the armour belt, which is how I have it.
I use a boot lace to tie the bottom of the holster to my right thigh.

The trousers can be held up however you want them to stay up. Once the armour's on the belt will hardly be seen/noticed.

Pouches tend to also be able to fit on the same width of belt, but there's nothing stopping you having another belt on top.

Re. the belt tool and welder; The belt tool can be put on the armour belt, but I found that the belt was too thick for it to 'lock' on, so I generally put mine on the grenade strap.

The welder has been discussed in other threads. It may have just been tied with a cord to the armour belt. Some remade welders are fitted with a strap and buckle.
