The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I just watched Wall-E a few days ago with my son and I noticed the two following references (:?:) to Alien and Aliens movies :
- The music the first time the probe is landing on Earth has noticeable sounds making me think of the one in Alien when the Nostromo is landing on LV-426
- The "house" Wall-E is living in resembles the APC
Have you also noticed that (and others) ?
By the way, Wall-E is a great movie ; you should watch it if not already done :lol:

I've got it on Blu-ray and the extras/commentary mention the following Aliens homages;

Eve's blue scanning laser is based on the laser scanner used in the Narcissus at the start of Aliens, just before the salvage team enter.

When Eve blows up the shipyard, a metal bar is thrown past Wall-E in the explosion, which is taken from the Dropship crash, where a similar bar is seen in shot and heard bouncing as it hits the ground. :)

When the fridge door is cut open by Wall-E I half expected the sound effects to be the same as in Aliens (when the Narcissus door hits the deck), but they weren't. :roll:
