The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi there

Im new here, looking for some advice. Ive just got an Icons Pulse Rifle (non-working stunt version), and it has a few scratches on it I would like to patch up.

Could anyone out there tell me what the green colour Icons used is? Im sure its a drab of some description, but id like to get it as exact as posible.

Thanks for your time!

Neil

Welecome to the board.

The actual pulse rifles were painted with Humbrol Bess Brown, so the Icons versions might use that same paint. Unfortunately I don't know for sure since I don't happen to own one. Maybe another board member might be able to tell you what color is the appropriate one.;)
------------------------------
M-40 grenade: $30

Pulse Rifle: $2000

Tactical Smart Missles: $10,000

Sulaco Full of Badass Colonial Marines: $700,000,000

Kicking some alien ass: Priceless

I have a copy of the Icons collectors' society magazine 'The Vault' number 2, containing a feature on the Pulse Rifle in which it's stated "Examining the interior was invaluable because we were able to colour match the original military green paint job on the exterior of the carry shell/housing."

I have a feeling that Brown Bess is difficult to colour match and while Icons probably planned their PR's to be Brown Bess they just couldn't match it 100% in terms of either time fame, budget or both.

The Icons is definitely not Bess Brown. It probably closer to OD green.

I suspect the infamous PR the icons was based on may have been repainted at some stage.

If I get a chance I'll take a comparison between an Icons and something that is bess brown.
