Yes thank you for pointing that out. I'm well aware of airsoft sites selling airsoft within Canada. They have most likely gone through the time, trouble and money to obtain documentation allowing them to import airsoft (usually pertaining to the entertainment/movie industry). Or they are doing it under the table somehow.
The law states that any guns you owned before 1998 are yours to keep, but you are not allowed to sell, trade, or
even give them away. You are committing a crime otherwise. If you no longer want your airsoft guns you can either take them to the local police station (love to see how that would go over) or (I assume) destroy them yourself. Whole point is that these airsoft sites (selling replicas) are probably being overlooked as it is nearly impossible to inspect a package travelling within the country's borders.
I never said that
airsofting in Canada was illegal. I said that
importing airsoft guns by private citizens was.
Don't believe me? Move to Canada and see if you can openly pass your guns through Customs. Or try ordering one through the mail.
