The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

It's funny- I was in WalMart on Sunday and saw that they have re-released the Alien Trilogy boxset: Alien 1-3- without Resurrection. In new slimline cases. They appear to be the discs released before the Quadrilogy and subsequent 2-disc individually released movies.

Guess it's a tie-in with AvP:R?

I don't know if it is or not Kevin. I got the same set last year but at Target and it wasn't around the time of AvP.

Might just be their budget repack sale.

Might just be it took this long to get in Canada. I'll have to take a look at the packaging. If it is bilingual that could account for the delay.

I guess the release AvP:R is a coincedence?

Got an e-mail last week from Amazon.com to say they'd sent the 2 DVD set of AvP-R, but doubt I'll see it for a couple of weeks as I went for the cheap shipping cost.

Oh it's possible that it is for AvP:R. I haven't seen them in stores since I got mine. But they also do have a Pred pack (1, 2 and avp) and a Terminator pack as well.

Is there any differeance between the U.S . release of the DVD and the U.K. release?
U.K version will have 7 extra minutes....wow.. plus a commentary by the directors....maybe the will explain why it turned out the way it did..

Many people bash it hardcore.

Was it as good as Aliens? Nope. Not even close.

Did it have Aliens and Predators kicking the crap outa each other? Yup.

I enjoyed it and I know many won't agree with me. Watching it a second time after getting over the dissapointment, and that it wasn't the *end all be all movie*, I enjoyed it much more.

Got my AVP-R DVD set today.

A few "making of" features on DVD 1 with the film and some commentaries.

DVD 2 contains a 'Digital Copy' of the film, for uploading to portable devices, such as laptops, iPod Videos, iPhone, Touch, etc.

Tried to get the iTunes version, but rather than copy the data from the DVD, it goes to USA iTunes Store and attempts to load it from there.

I'm in the UK, so it wouldn't load it.

Tried the 'Copy to PC' option and it gives you a 1.2GB protected wmv file.

Tried to convert that for my Touch but the copy protection was stopping the conversion.

So I used DVDDecrypter and Videora instead. 8)

Videora's nearly finished it, so will report back on if it worked. :)

I've got the uncut version and there are scenes in it that make the story make more sense and less disjointed in places.

I have the 'Unrated' version (same as Si does I guess?), which has about 7 minutes extra footage in the movie.

Haven't had time to watch it yet.
