The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

In case you've all been away, don't forget tomorrow is Valentine's day. Hope you've all got your loved ones something special - even if its a card. Flowers are always gratefully received by the ladies and embarrassingly received by the men  Although, florists have hiked their prices up for this special day - remember, it doesn't have to be a dozen red roses. A flowering plant is nice too, or a little present, prop or two

Whatever you all do, have a nice one !

Angela

I would, but I don't have everyone's address on here to send the flowers and candy too. Sorry guys and gals.

I'd like to say though that its my wifes and my 4 year anniversary tomorrow.
Doesn't feel like 4 years since I had the cold hand of immigration stamping my Brit book (passport). Been a great 4 years though....even if the first 2 living with my in-laws drove me to the edge.
That also means 4 years as a USCM.....the 2nd most important anniversary ;)

We don't normally celebrate Valentine's Day but my husband surprised me this morning with a card. Guess I'll have to cook him something nice for dinner now...

Card and flowers sorted and the other half suitably surprised and happy this morning.

Just got a funny feeling I'll be otherwise preoccupied to be posting on here later on tonight  :P

I'd like to be spending Valentines day with the woman I love.
...but instead she's spending it with the latest in a line of possesive, white-trash redneck arsehole's she's dating.

I think she's lost her mind...

Tony, congratulations on your anniversary mate! I hope you both have a wonderfull day!

No flowers for the Pixie. Nope, nothing says I love you better than an action figure from her favourite cartoon. Especially if that figure has purple hair

I delighted in not having to contribute huge portions of my earnings to deBeers, Hallmark and the florist in order to prove my love, AGAIN, at a predetermined date mandated by industry and a female sense of entitlement.

Geez with that attitude, you'll be staying single for a while too.

Well for the single people there is always St. Skeletor's Day.

LOL. touche.

But, try explaining that to the hormonal, programmed shrews...

It's not romance, it's self-preservation!

Oh, I understand! I endured it myself in my married years. But rejoice in not having to now.

I just think V Day devalues all the little (and not so little) things one does for one's sweetie the rest of the time. It results in A) her taking those things for granted and B) him doing less of those things in order to just "save it up" for the designated day.

This is why Cherie and I don't get cards or flowers.....we use the day to get each other something we'd like (not want)
But yes, we could get it any other day which means we are in the 'sucked in' list.

I got her two Star Wars Maquettes.
