The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I use the Container Store 'storage locker with wheels'. I've not yet gotten one for my USCM armor, but I have a few for other costumes, and they rule.

I use a standard issue Canadian Forces barrack box... Airborne Mike uses the same thing. Works like a charm.

Yup works great. Doubles as a chair in the hotel room. Pre-con duties it doubles as a beer cooler 8)

I use a Stanley Jobsite Toolbox. Has wheels, retractable handle, lockable and sturdy. Two sizes, get the larger. $50-

Pad it with foam.

Get a TSA approved lock.

Based on sound advice from Dave (DSW 777), I print out a notice in large bold font, and tape it to each weapon.

To this effect:

This is a Replica Prop, It Cannot Be Made To Fire.

Never use the word "weapon". If you have to, it's a Science Fiction Blaster.

I tell check in that I have expensive movie props and I want them inspected, and I'd like to be present when inspected.

Never use the word "weapon". If you have to, it's a Science Fiction Blaster.I

t usually works out pretty well.

Standard large tote from Walmart.
Fits the armor snuggly and you can use the BDU's as padding if necessary.(helmet fits if packed a certain way)
Everything underneath with the armor laid out of top with room at one end for the shoulder sections to fit nicely.
About $7 and fits (only just) in the trunk of the car.
Only thing is won't hold is the PR, tracker and boots.

We drive about 2000 miles there and back.

There's several possibilities, but army surplus stores may have very sturdy boxes suiting your needs. These are the fibre-glass ones we use for our stormtrooper armours in our Garrison. They're able to take a beating, as was proven by their surviving the flights from Brussels to LA.

For my USCM and my alien, I use Allibert Explorers, but I doubt those are available abroad. They are the largest type of stackable box I know of and one of them easily fits a marine costume with all weapons, BDUs, boots, trackers and other gear. There's still some room to spare (for the occasional beverages and such).

Those cases look great, Broskopf. Wish I could find something like that.

Atm I', looking at this to store and transport my USCM gear (damn it's difficult to find soemthing that will take the length of a pulse rifle), but worry about how suitable it is for flight.

As long as it fits size restrictions for luggage, it should be allowed on flights.

Edit: Sorry I ment to add in addition to having a hard storage case for your armour, you should also protect your weapons and other items. ( Helmet, shoulder lamp, motion tracker, weapons)

I use a hard shell golf case. It counts as a regular check in as long as its less then 50lbs.

I went this route because airlines tend to charge extra for oversized or overweight items.

A rifle case also is considered one check in, but it's only good for carrying rifles....
