The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I added this convention to the Charter calendar because it was on the website along with Comic Con San Diego.

I just got an e-mail from SEGA with regards to this event and the Colonial Marine FPS game they are currently developing.

If anyone is attending please let me know so I can pass on the details.

Thanks

I'm planning on attending this on the Sat. of the Con. Dave (DSW777) is as well. 8)

Don't know if it will be a drop however. Dave said the SF based Con is really prickly about weapontry. He had to paint an orange tip on his PR...

You guys know me...don't think I could deal w/ the SF security pricks...being that...prickly...

Turns out they will be at Comic Con too so anyone attending who wishes to meet up with the SEGA team beforehand please let me know.

I've told them about D*Con but of course they are San Fran' based.

I'm not sure what this is all about, but it seems pretty big.
Will post more details soon.

I will be attending this event as a fully geared up Colonial Marine.

Armored-

Armed with my "back-up" all fiberglass PR. The Matsucorp PR is not going.

I will cover the tip orange or some such nonsense...

I will be presenting the epitiome of the Corps with Honor, (not DCon style... 8) )

And will give a full update-

You might consider colored electrical tape for the PR Rex. You can get multipacks with Red,green, blue and yellow for only a couple bucks at most home improvement stores. When the con has issues, I go for the yellow electrical tape. It shuts them up fast. And I don't have to repaint after the con. :D

Good tip Russ! Snagged a yellow electrical tape!

Was checking out my fiberglass PR, I'd forgotten the sling point near the barrel had broken out one side. Picked up some of that aluminum paste stuff at a local supplier. Supposedly, you can just apply it like paste, it dries hard and is sandable and paintable and has superior holding power. I'll check it out and give a review...

Just caught this thread.

I'll be at WonderCon hosting a fan table for scifihero.net

Jesse was thinking of doing this as well under the Aliens Legacy name. I'll message him to see. I can gear up for this if they need a few marines. Last year there was one xeno.

PM sent with addy.

I had some red electrical tape on the tip of my PR. I wasn't hassled, but then again I wasn't waving it around much.

Sorry guys, but this has to be the dumbest law ever... by this rationale, any idiot can put red electric tape around a real weapon and pass it off as a fake.

Awesome so if I wrap the MP-40 (german one not the new S&W)
with red or yellow tape I can carry my full auto.

I love some of these feel good laws. :D

Bad Guy would get hell of a look on his face  When the safety tipped MP-40 spits lead.

Got to hang out with Rex this weekend. Also spoke with people from SEGA and Gearbox. Everyone is so excited about this project.

Some of the stuff I had out for display:

Image

Rex checking out GameInformer.

Also ran into a friend of mine. She went as Ripley from Alien.

Image

Ripley and Spengler

While I was kicking back at the fan table, this thing creeped across my vision... My chest almost burst stifling the laugh.

LOL!!

That was fun hanging out with you bro! What excited me was that the Sega and Gearbox reps are as excited about the game as we are!

Class acts all the way around!

it was great getting to meet you guys at the wondercon saturday. it was a good time in general, but getting to chat with Rex and David was awesome too.

Seeing the gear up close was fantastic. I was already impressed with what I've seen online, but getting the hands-on was great. The real working motion detector was super cool.

Heres me rocking the pulse rifle and helmet:

and some more i took at the convention:

I'll be at San Diego Comic-Con at least 1 day as a Marine, I'm currently reworking my entire costume for it! I'd be glad to help out if Sega needs some booth people hanging around for pictures and advertising for the new game!
