The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

DSB, I replied to you.... unfortunately, it was WAY too lo-rez. Please re-send something a little more clear and at least 150 DPI. If this is too difficult, re-send a larger signature and I'll work on it.

Sigs received from Robert, Angie & Jose. Thanks.

It is my extreme displeasure to inform you all that Christopher Chulamanis has passed away on Thursday January 10 2008 at 18H00 GMT.

Joy has indicated that she will be cremating Chris' remains in his Colonial Marine uniform.

There are no other details; time for funeral services have not yet been set.

As a show of respect for Chris, I will be off this forum for 24H. If you need to contact me, please do so by email.

RIP Chris... we hardly knew yee.

Well... Chris passed.

I don't know know what else to say.

He is going to be cremated in his USCM BDU's, and Sherry and Harry are hoping we can arrange a moment of silence among the board members when that happens.

There's also talk about Sherry, Harry and Scott coming down to DragonCon and setting up Chris' Armor for display and having a memorial of sorts there for him.

A great friend is gone. But will always be remembered.

Well, just stopped crying. Damn it. There's not much to say. We've lost a great friend.

That would be real nice to have Chris's armor on display at DCon.

Pretty awesome he's being cremated in his Colonial Marine gear. He sure loved it.

He fought it hard for a solid week. Didn't give up, he was a fighter to the end.

Chris, we love you. Thank you for being there for me during my worst time last year. Thank you for getting me into the USCM.

Most of all, thank you for being my friend.

Love you man,

-Rex

When I turned up at DragonCon in 2006, the first guy I saw was Brian. The second was Chris. He smiled, shook my hand, gave me a hug and welcomed me to the convention. He gave me a welder just for coming. We shared drinks, jokes, stories. In a weekend he went from being a forum username to being a brother.

In 2007, he was the first man I met at the convention again. He smiled, shook my hand, gave me a hug, and told me he was so happy that I had made the trip again, before commenting that I should have kicked the airport staff's ass for the state of my guncase. But I didn't care about the gun case - I was just happy I'd made such a good impression on someone as kind and good as him.

He was one of the sweetest men I have ever met, and if I make it to the convention in 2008, a kind soul will be there, but something will always be missing.

Chris, we will always miss you, and it will be impossible to forget you.

Semper Fi.

I just heard the news, not sure what to say other than to express my shock and sadness right now.

I was really looking forward to meeting Chris in person this summer at DragonCon, but I'll still be there to join everyone in remembering a great man and I know that he'll be there with us all too.

Harry

...I am at a loss. I truly don't know what to say....

I'd been checking the tread for news of progress and... Well...

God speed, Chris. You will be missed more than can be expressed.

Oorah!

Oh man...I really thought he was going to make it. This just F'ing sucks! There's just no other way to say it.

I'm going to miss you Chris. I'll never forget the first time I met you at your first Dragon*Con. You and Kevin. We were so small in numbers back then. Dragon just won't be the same without you.

Spat - I would really like an address to send a card to. PM sent.

I was in class when I got the news today, had to get up and leave the room. I only met Chris once, at last Dragon*Con, and the word "inspiring" comes to mind... his words of encouragement and praise for what I had finished on my costume so far - unfinished as it yet was - really left a profound impression on me. Chris really knew how to boost someone up. All I can really think to say about this man is how glad I am that my first Drop with the USCM was in time to meet Chris before he passed.

In honor of the life that has now come to a close, I'd like to share with you all a Navy tradition usually spoken at retirement ceremonies:

The Watch
For many years, this man has stood The Watch.
While some of us were in our bunks at night, this man stood the watch.
While some of us were in school learning our trade, this man stood the watch.
Yes.. even before some of us were born into this world,
This man stood The Watch.

In those years when the storm clouds of war were seen brewing on the horizon of history,
This man stood the watch.
Many times he would cast an eye ashore and see his family standing there,
Needing his guidance and help,
Needing that hand to hold during those hard times,
But still he stood the watch.

He stood the watch for many years.
He stood the watch so that we, our families, and our fellow countrymen could sleep soundly in safety, each and every night...
Knowing that someone stood the watch.

Today we are here to say,
'Shipmate, the watch stands relieved;
Relieved by those you have trained, guided, and led.
Shipmate, you stand relieved. We have the watch.'

'Boatswain, Stand by to pipe the side: Colonial Marine going Ashore.'

I barely knew Chris, but he had a positive impact on me for the brief time we talked. One measure of a man is how he makes other people feel about themselves, and Chris made me-- a total stranger-- feel like I belonged.

RIP, Chris. The world is a lesser place for your absence.
