The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

To my fellow Alien / AvP / Predator / USCM fans,

I just saw "Death Sentence" last night starring Kevin Bacon. Even though I like Kevin Bacon (seen "Tremors"?), I hate to admit that I can't recommend the film with a clear conscience. Anyway, there was a DIFFERENT AvP2 trailer in front of the film and this one rocked, too.

It was at least 75% of the same footage as the "Red Banner" one we all know but it had a few new shots. One with a chestburster out & about, snarling at the camera is one that stands out in my mind most.

Even though this one left out most of the really cool gore/violence shots, it was still powerful. The last 25% of it, I'd guess, had a rendition of the Christmas song "Silent Night" playing over it with little or no sound effects / natural sound. In my humble opinion, it was a VERY well put-together trailer and was rather eerie considering the strange marriage of sound to imagery.

If this is old news in these forums, I apologize, but I wanted to be sure the fans knew.

I've looked for it (I call it the "Silent Night" AvP-R trailer) on YouTube but no luck so far.

I hope if anyone finds it online (or the official AvP site), you will notify the rest of us!

Best wishes,
J.T. alias sidemachine

Colin Strausse, one of the directors said the crew nicknamed the Predator 'Wolf' after Harvey Keitels character in Pulp Fiction.
Because, like our Harv, the Pred is there to "clean up the mess".

According to Box Office Mojo, the MPAA has officially rated AvP Requiem as R!

It was rated R for violence, gore and language. It's not on the MPAA website though. I'm surprised we got the rating this early. I thought they were still working on the film and will have to resubmit their cut when they've finished (?)

Either way, it's R, and that's what matters.

I was sent a link to the trailer yesterday (http://www.avp-r.com/trailer.html). It looks FULL-ON!
Was there ever a time when I was so willing to eat crow about a movie? OK, the continuity of the entire series is blown out of the water, we have Aliens on Earth 'now'; but if there's enough eye-candy and action to keep the audience's mind off of that, maybe allowances can be made.
AvP was in need of redemption, hopefully this'll be it.

Fox released this new pic, the Alien looks huge, just like in the early comics – just as it should.
I think it looks great! Fingers crossed...

It seems the Predator homeworld may be revealed in the new movie.

Check out the link and read the Fangoria interview with one of the directors:

http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/to ... hp?id=1311

There is a much better interview here, but be aware there are a few spoilers:
http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles ... tory.jhtml

This film is really starting to look promising. Fingers crossed these guys can deliver.

Hoooboy.
What if they've really got it right this time? What if it blows our socks clean off? Hope the UK release isn't too far behind, if the US fans are happy with it.

With all of the excitement I should wait until people trash the film because it doesn't measure up. That way I could see it with low expectations and really enjoy it.
They have to make it for a broader audience which means we aren't going to agree with some aspects of the film.
