The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Doing a bit of "tweaking" to my props.

I noticed that the grenade caps in the film have a white line around them. Been looking online, and noted that some people have used strips of Vinyl Tape to replicate this.

Anyone know exactly what sort of tape, how wide, etc?

I reckon its about 2mm wide from some pics, but the only similar stuff I can find online is either 1mm or 3mm graphic art tape.

Any suggestions? I don't fancy trying to paint this, as my hands are not that steady.

I grabbed this pic off google to show what I'm trying to do...

Either mask it and paint it, or cut tape/vinyl with a ruler and scalpel.

Again, couldn't find any 2mm striping. So have ordered some 3mm. If it's too wide, will attempt to trim it.

Trimming may be difficult... I may have some 2mm striping somewhere...

If someone can get me dimensions of the grenade caps I can easily cut white 2mm striping onto a small sheet, enough for 1 or 2 dozen grenades

*Edit* I splurged with my GST balance and spent it on a 5-pack of SD Studios grenades :delta: I should have them in about a month and I'll test out some striping on them before I make these available

White electrical tape and trim it down to size.
