The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Just uploaded a new video to my channel.

This one focuses on cheap ways to improve most any set of armor by attacking some things that are often overlooked.
All this stuff is cheap!

https://youtu.be/ns7p81Uu_GM

The main topics are:
-Making your own neck bindings from marine vinyl
-Attaching elastic to your ear defender, then lacing it through your 'nape strap' loop in order to keep your ear defender against your head and not flopping about
-Using a razor blade and heat gun to get a grid pattern on your foam/padding
-"dummy" IR site (WIP)
-The often overlooked Beyer knob on the ear defender
-and PVC dummies for display.

Just a bit over 15 mins. Hope someone finds this stuff useful!

That's a great little video, bigbisont! I might even replicate the ear guard elastic.

I pretty much have got all the other details covered.

I really enjoyed this video last night. Now I need to look over my sets and see what can be improved.

Big... what are all the parts on the armour for the vinyl? Front and back sections of the armour... are there other bits on the main armour aside from the greaves with it on?

If you want to get fancy with a sewing machine, the 'ab pad' uses the same material as neck bindings and greeve gaskets. But that is about it.

I’ve got all the bits from Noble which included some short pieces... so they just go around the neck? Got any pics of all the pieces of the neck bindings / upper vinyl pieces in place by any chance please?

These are not from my own armor, but I have these reference photos of a Terry English set.
Overall some trimming may be necessary to get the right length. I think the longest one is most likely for the back plate. Second longest for the front plate. For the smaller ones, I usually prioritize getting a good fit on the plate with the buckle on the right shoulder, but often don't do the tiny 'top of the shoulder' small plates at all. They are completely covered by the pauldron webbing are not even visible with armor fastened, so it is up to you how much effort you put into a non-visible part.
