The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well, the crapfest that was 2020 shows no signs of abating.

OK, so I'm still in work, but with most places being closed, there's nothing to do on my days off.

Spent most of last year working and sitting around my house.

If this is going to be how things are from now on, I'm not sure I really see the point...

Well you’re doing the right thing by not going anywhere. The more that folks do the same, and not spread the virus, the quicker this will all be over.

Also the trick is to think of yourself as safe at home and not trapped at home.

Hang in there.

Harry

Stay in your box.

Watch TV

Go to work

Go back to your box.

Not exactly a very fullfilling existence.... :(

Work on your props. That is what I have done.

Way ahead of you.

Had to rub down these areas on my Yorkshire Props stunt rifle as the paint wasn't drying and remaining tacky, even after several weeks.

Took it back to the base, put some car body filler over the areas and sanded it smooth again. Will put a shot of primer over these in the morn, then see about doing the top coat.

Have started spraying my Flame unit, but made a mistake. Should have put a thin coat of grey primer over the yellow High-build primer before trying to apply top coat, as it takes a lot more coats to mask the bright yellow.

I've had the issue of paint not drying on the grip of my VP70. I ended up gouging out a hole where this was happening and rebuilding that bit from milliput.

One thing that's helped me immensely during all of this is gaming online with friends. I don't game out all day every day, usually only 2 hours a day. But I've made a close connection with a group of friends playing video games over the last 2 years and it's been really great. We try to get together a few times a week to play games for a few hours and we have a group chat we share other things/news/events in.

Not sure if you play any games or not but there's gotta be something out there you might be interested in. Give it a try if you haven't :)

Simon--I hear ya. Maybe you could learn a new program? I'm learning Fusion360 to design parts for 3D printing. I hear Blender is really powerful with animation capabilities and all, but Fusion360 is good for engineering parts.
