The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

The miniatures look awesome, it will definitely be a collectors item.
Seeing a lot of these tabletop games lately.

Won't this be at least the third version of such a game? Leading Edge did one back in the 1990s and then there was one more recently that included Predator stuff as well.

Yes, this will indeed be the 3rd. Prodos is the 2nd one. Prodos was more of an 'expanded universe' with generic marines, A:CM style Weyland Mercs, and many classes of Aliens and Predators. Not sure if the game was any fun but the Prodos miniatures featured amazingly detailed minis and vehicles.

The Leading Edge game I believe is universally known as an "unplayable mess". I have the Leading edge game and manual yet simply can not get through it, so I have never even started a real game.

This one appears more "movie character" focused. There are already 2 expansions in the works that sort of feel like cash grabs in that you need the expansions to get all the characters. My brother has the 'firefly' game from the same company and he says it is fun. I will probably grab this one.

Ah yes, Prodos, that was the name I was trying to remember.
Which Leading Edge game do you have? The board game with the cardboard counters and maps or the RPG that used a so-called 'simplified' (ha!) version of LE's other titles? I think I have all the Aliens material LE produced and the board game seemed okay to me. Although I bought the expansion much later as a collector's item and never got round to trying it out. I thought the RPG varied from over complicated individual action to a super crude space and vehicle combat system that basically meant one side got to do everything while the other just got shot repeatedly.

I agree its a cash grab. the prodos game had an awesome APC and dropship, but the dropship is 300 dollars. id rather play warhammer and just use aliens pieces. Thanks to 3d printers well be able to make our own. Just did a test print of a dropship and it is killer. its just a tiny one but the large one i print will be many pieces and about 18 inches. you can find them on Thingiverse for free. 3D scanners are going to become affordable before long too.

Looks like a re-skin of the Ghostbusters board game.

Not out yet , only says (2020 release) was delayed at one point.
Also has two expansions announced.

I'm wondering if there's some known reason why every USCM thing must be inaccurate.
like the rivets in the neca figures helmets, The hiya figures, comics ect.

Last release rumour I saw was Q3 2020, although that was said before all of this virus business.
However they have really been ramping up the social media lately with multiple FB posts with a picture of something from the Aliens game and advice to "join their mailing list for the latest updates", although I've yet to get an email. Does feel like they're starting to build up momentum for a release.
As the game is co-op (and presumably could be played solo as well, with the Aliens just going for the nearest enemy like the "This Time It's War" game?) releasing it sooner rather than later might be a good idea :D

I think it's partly because what is released is perceived as good enough, and partly because some companies don't reach out to those who know.

Yeah, fair enough Harry, I think you're right. I was thinking maybe there's like this line they cant cross for some copyright reason. like maybe if more then one group has the license rights then they have to back off on certain details. Not sure if I'm explaining what I mean right. Its just so odd, I look at my NECA figures and see details that I can't believe they got correct. then there's these other things that are like "wtf, that was so obvious." The hiya toys confuse me, I would literally work for them for free to sort out the armor. they skipped the lobster plates completely. I wish there was a way to give them a shout and invite them to this forum as a resource.

I'm not sure about that but I doubt it, unless it's image rights of one of the actors I think everything is pretty much okay.

If they're reachable via social media you could always give them a shout and ask.

Core game release set for October 2020, with the expansions before the end of the year.

Thanks for the update and the link. :)

I'm waiting for this, to feed my miniatures and RPG addictions.

(Because I need even more unpainted minis around the house...)

They make a bit of a mess of it in parts as it's clearly their first time but overall I think it looks great - can't wait for my copy to arrive :D

Looks like the makers have rightly decided that some people may not be interested in the game itself but will buy the figures. I just got the "Heroes of Hadley's Hope" that contains the humans from the core set and the Ultimate Badasses expansion. The price seemed pretty good, £20 from Amazon.
I'll post another picture when I get around to painting them, which on the basis of the 40k figures I'm working on for my website right now could be any time from next week to ten years from now.

I promised these a long time ago. I'm just relieved I managed to get around to painting these in under a year (only just though!).

I know my painting is not the best but I'm happy with these guys. The figures are much better than the old Leading Edge Games ones.
