The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Post subject: New to airsoft G&P kit questions

Hello everyone,

So I have managed to get a g&p kit from ilovethecorps, I was going to use the shrouds on another project but then thought I would love to put the kit together. I have a couple of questions as bar a couple of bb pistols etc when I was younger I do not have a clue when it comes to airsoft.

I obviously need a thompson,As long as it works with the kit i don't mind if its not metal or even that powerful because I'm not going skirmishing or anything with it so what would be my best budget to mid range option in the U.K?
Does anyone have a parts list so I can see if I have everything or is there anywhere online to get one?
I have downloaded some instructions but I believe they are from a matrix or other brand version, would they be the same as the g&p?
Apologies for the questions but looks like with this lockdown I'm going to have some time on my hands so thought no better way to use it than build a pulse rifle!

Thanks
Jay

You would probably want to go with the cyma or even the snow wolf Thompson. They are copys of the tokyo marui Thompson and can be had for not much over £100 if you look about.
The matrix/ snow wolf pulse rifle kit is identical and is a copy of the older g&p kit.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Stimpy,
I will do abit of research into those thompsons, in regards to getting spares are they easily obtainable?
Really looking forward to getting this together, although not the most accurate it looks like a great kit.

The cyma is very highly regarded for the price and you probably wouldn't need spares but im sure they are available and compatible with Tokyo marui parts.

I have a cyma in my PR and a cyma thompson for airsoft and it doesn't miss a beat!

The cheapest one available over here is the Well D98 version, around £60-£80 last time I looked. All plastic but surprisingly good quality. The stick mag is modelled on the 30 round not the 20.

I used it on my PR and had no regrets with it :)

Sorry stimpy I meant spares for the G&p kit. Hopefully i will have all the parts but as you probably know there is always the odd spring or piece you are missing when buying second hand.
Thank you Simon I will have a look into them, can't argue with that price for a thompson!

Possibly of use could be the Matrix/Snow Wolf instructions [being a modified copy of the G&P] -

As always thanks everone for your help, really is amazing how much knowledge is on this forum.

The G&P kit has been out of production for at least 10yrs. You're highly unlikely to find spares for it. Spares for the Matrix/Snow Wolf kit are more likely ...

Evike has spare parts for the magazine base, the grenade launcher racking grip (not good on shotgun part names, the item that one holds to rack the shotgun).

There is a guy on ebay that sells the barrel cooling vents and the stock.

Honestly, Evike frequently has its Pulse Rifles on sale for about $269.00, its almost worth it to buy it on sale, and either use that you the primary use replica, and save the G&P kit for spares, or to use the Evike model as a spare parts donor.

I think that if its a legitimate G&P kit that you have, someone may pay a pretty penny for an “authentic” body kit.

Appreciate that mate, but I have bought a cyma thompson and basically got the whole kit together now, fingers crossed one of the other members on here has got the stock sliders for me I'm only missing one piece and it should all be together.
I never even thought about building one of these to be honest, I have my hcg rifle and am slowly gathering parts for a hero but when this kit came up I thought why not!
You can never have too many pulse rifles!

Hello everyone,

Finally had time to start getting this together, I seem to have stumbled upon a problem. The magazine for the thompson is far too long, do I need to buy a short one?
I can't imagine me cutting this mag down is going to end well at all.

Might pay to see if you can identify the make of the thompson inside as some of the "shorty" mags are slightly different lengths ...

Thank you for the replies,

It's a cyma thompson, seems getting a short mag for any thompson tho at the moment is quite tricky, I found one in stock so ordered it but was emailed the next day telling me unfortunately was out of stock and was refunded.
Will keep looking I guess

So this magazine is too long aswell.
It is shorter but it's still about an inch too long. I think I am going to have to trim one down, this will make the magazine very short tho.
What is the normal length of the magazine for a snow wolf? I am using a Cyma so not sure if it makes a difference?

Thanks
