The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Ugh, started this back in Feb. This crap is never ending, as I keep finding more and more bits to do.

It's like there's always "one more job" before it's finished.

Just been re-locating the shelves in the back bedroom, which I've only just had new carpets put down in, as I decided to re-arrange the furniture. So been patching up holes and repainting and re-drilling new holes for the shelves etc etc

Still got the kitchen to do, which needs competely gutting.

The lockdown, and shops restricting their hours, limiting the number of customers in store etc has severely hampered efforts too.

I dunno, I'm beginning to wonder if its all worth it... :(

well if you were in my town you might have an extra set of hands as needed.

I feel you on the remodel.

Had to rip out the master bath shower stall redo the flooring and ceiling as the basin got a rip in it and rotted things a bit.

Re-did my Bathroom a couple of years back, so thankfully that's one less job.

But, not looking forward to re-doing the kitchen. The ceiling is artex and has started flaking off, so at some point, I need to scrape all that off, which will make a hell of a mess, then get someone to re-plaster the ceiling.

Patio needs ripping up and new slabs putting down, but that will have to wait till next summer.

Hey! Me too. Actually we found where an AC duct was "sweating" in the attic and dripping into the ceiling of a hall closet (not visible to normal traffic). Long story short, mold in the wall and carpet adjacent the closet (which is how we found it). Gutted all that and replaced a lot of drywall. Decided to redo the floors in wood instead of new carpet. Did the bedroom and hall in matching/continuous bamboo floors. Wife decided since I was doing floors I should redo the dining room in wood too. We also decided to redo our deck (but hired a guy for that) doubling its size using trex instead of regular lumber. All this AFTER I decided to redo my basement and rearrange a lot of stuff which was put on hold for the new projects.

All those jobs are finally winding down which means I can finally turn my attention back to the basement. Should get some nice pics of the completed setup/collection soon!
It truly never ends. In theory it is always better than it was at least. Steady improvement is all we can ask.

Mine started with me deciding I needed a new settee in the living room, and thought that after slinging out the old one, it would be a good time to replace the carpet. But then thought if I'm going to do that, I may as well repaint the ceiling and walls, then decided before I did all that I should replace the old wooden front and back doors with UPVC ones, which I'd been meaning to do for some time.

Also decided if I was getting new flooring for the living room, I ought to replace the carpet on the stairs and bedrooms, so should perhaps redecorate them too. Also thought all the electric fittings (lights, switches, sockets etc) were looking kind of old and grubby, so they needed replacing too.

I was going to leave the kitchen, but found a problem with the electrics, which meant I needed to chop out a chunk of wall to get to the wiring, then found the artex on the ceiling was falling to bits, so I now need to remove it and re-plaster.

So went from buying a new settee, to redecorating practically the entire house.

Also had a fence post rot out, which meant replacing an entire section of fence whilst I was at it.

I'm definitely over the hump, but the problem is there are lots of "minor" jobs I keep finding to do around the place, which seem to take the most time, like fxing the creaking floorboards in the bedrooms before the new carpets went down.

Next phase after all this is decluttering, seem to have accumulated lots of stuff over the years which is taking up a lot of room and needs sorting out.
