The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Personally I think Burke and the Hadley's sign were enough of a draw. Adding an alien wasn't necessary, but (as you said) a standard one would have been better. Burke has one of the most iconic close encounters with an alien in the whole film so it is frustrating that you can't *quite* recreate it with this set. Oh well, alien figures don't interest me half as much as the humans.

I wanted to make a simple display for my Marines that would be cat and kid proof. I also didn't want to spend much as toys aren't really my passion. I settled on a collapsible storage bin, a narrow sheet of ProVent attic insulation, two sheets of plastic loom (like kids use at summer camp for crafts) and some model kit sprue for foot pegs. I cut down a spare sheet of plexi for the front and there we go.

Now the floor isn't secured down yet as I'm still working out the placement (keeping in mind any future additions), but eventually I will use 2 part hardening putty to make the pegs permanent and to even out the floor. I gave the loom a quick coat of silver and painted the ProVent white to increase the contrast. The details really get lost with a dark background.

When I'm done I'll get a better shot with my actual camera but I hope you like how it is shaping up!

I just realized you can see the reflection of my 1/4th scale Big Chap looming over them!

Turned out it was easier to just add a sheet of thin wood that I can then drill into. When I'm done I'll paint it and glue the loom down.. I'm still figuring out the foot pegs though. Any suggestions? My sprue solution wasn't as good of a match as I'd hoped...

you can fit small magnets in the pegholes in the feet and use a metal underground, but it wont help with the weak ankles some aliens suffer from.

Unfortunately he was a Toys R Us exclusive. Bootlegs from china and the secondary market (ebay) are most likely the only ways to find him.

It would require work unless you have access to a top quality, industeial machine/materials.

From that site, ever their "smooth/fine detail" option needs SOME finish work.

Well im back in the NECA game after regretting selling off my original collection. Managed to grab all the movie marines released so far and have begun tweaking details to get them all screen accurate. First on the list was Frost's sleeves....

I was definitely hoping for a film-accurate Drake tease at SDCC. It's OK we didn't this year. Maybe later in the year, or next year. Hopefully. Keeping my fingers crossed for sure.

Even though they were announced a while back (so weren't 'new') and Brett wasn't even shown, it is still nice to be getting a Brett and Parker from the first film. Wasn't a total loss, but yeah the lack of '86 figures in the last 3 years or so has been pretty disappointing.

Yeah I'm surprised we've not seen the Drake figure yet that they hinted at a couple of years ago. That is a must buy.
I am absolutely stoked we are getting Brett and Parker. Also wouldn't say no to a reissue of Alien Ripley, not really keen on that headsculpt.
