The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Dear All,

Just looking for a suitable helmet to use as the basis for a steel helmet build...

I saw these on eBay... are they any good? For the shape and liner etc?

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 1448117856

Kind regards,

Pete

Yep they're good.
Shame none are in stock though, just the cover available.

Nuts. I didn’t realise they had sold out...

So if I can get one they are a suitable match in shape and style? I am just very reluctant to cut up an original US one..:

Yes the Dutch m1 helmet is identical to the American m1 helmet. The Israeli M1 helmet also (except it has a third strap hook on the outer helmet, but since you´ll be grinding steel anyway....

Here´s a link to a dutch dumpstore that has them in stock for 15.00 euro:
https://www.militarycollectibles4u.nl/a ... origineel/

info@mc4u-store.com

And a picture of my (I believe Dutch) M1 helmet.

I´ve recently found some dutch army sleeping mats for the liner.

I've spoken with the supplier I get my military surplus from in Bury, UK. He says that the European M1 helmets are not quite as 'peaked' as the US version but you need to know what you are looking for to tell the difference. He has a couple of Danish M1s in stock with liners. These are £18 but he couldn't give me a price for postage yet, obviously they are quite heavy. If you are interested I can give you his contact number via PM and you can discuss what you need with him.

Hello Stephen yes please I’d be interested if you could please PM me. I do wonder what the difference in cmshape would mean once a helmet was added to and adapted...

IS the M1 available in different sizes like modern kevlars, or are they available in just one size?
There always looks so small...

As far as I know it's a case of one size fits all with the liner being adjustable.
