The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but is the cap the only place Gorman wears rank on his utility uniform? I've checked the usual references and searched the boards...

Pretty sure that's correct.

On the Service C he has subdued rank on the shoulders. On the utilities I only see it on the hat.

It's worn horizontally, which is different from the way most real-life services wear it.

For my CO uniform I took some artistic license and put rank on the collar in addition to the hat.

Yeah, I'm thinking about putting bars on my collar, too.

I'm a nurse, myself, and it's always bugged me that Dietrich is supposed to be a nurse, but is only a corporal. I plan to use my cosplay to correct that oversight.

If you look at my "M41C Project" post you can see my officer's uniform with the rank.

You went full Captain!

I thought about Captain, too, but that seemed ostentatious, seeing as I'd outrank 98% of the longstanding members. I settled on 1st LT.

Is there a reason you chose the sew-on rather than the pin-on rank?

My first drop was in 1997 so I figured if I was commissioned I'd be up there. I wanted a rank that would probably not be relegated to a staff job.

I liked the appearance of sew-on vs. pin-on. On the hat, it's more comfortable because the pins don't dig into your forehead.
