The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Working on my own version of a "carbine" Pulse Rifle. Sort of a "CAR15" equivalent. I am calling this the M41C.

I cut down the front of an M41 and added some styrene details. I also made a new muzzle using a PVC pipe fitting. The forend is from an M1 Thompson - keeping with the Thompson base design - cut to fit. I also modified the magazine well to fit the carbine appearance of the gun.

I had previously speed-built this gun and made some mistakes, so I had to do a lot of work getting the parts re-fitted properly. I did a lot of patching using styrene and kydex. Kydex is great for projects like this. I rough cut the pieces with a scissors and then square up the edges using a benchtop belt sander.

I made some new reinforcing plates out of kydex that need to be installed, and I'm making a new cocking handle.

Still a lot of detailing to do, but it's shaping up nicely.

Black pulse rifle also looks so good. do you know which brand your polish desert camo top is? Is it "helikon" by any chance?

Yes, Helikon. I really like their stuff.

My Polish Deserts are Helikon, and so are the ODs I am wearing in the photo there.

I get mine from co.military1st.uk and have nothing but great service from them.

nice, looks like you removed the two squares on the collar. Are the front pockets at a slant? Even though not screen accurate I can definitely see that pattern in the Aliens universe. also the collar loks like a natural progression from the mandarin collars.I'm gonnna go ahead and order me one. Also digging the OD green armor.

For my ODs I used the Helikon SFU NEXT shirt. http://www.military1st.co.uk/bl-sfn-pr- ... green.html

I had the collar modified to mandarin style and removed the shoulder pockets. The front pockets are slightly slanted but I am okay with that. I have been considering having some epaulets added to get something closer to Gorman's field jacket.

I could just get a field jacket, but that's damn hot for Summer when most of the cons I attend happen.

I have two sets of Polish BDUs, each adapted from a different base. I used the Helikon SFU NEXT and the CPU http://www.military1st.co.uk/bl-cpu-cr- ... esert.html

For the CPU you need a few more mods, but it comes with the mandarin collar. I had the shoulder pockets removed and the slanted chest pockets re-sewn straight. The CPU only has two chest pockets, unlike the movie BDU-type shirts.

For me screen accuracy is not as important as "looking the part."

Excellent, agreed on all points. Im going with the CPU. I think looking the part is better then screen accuracy as well. Sounds weird but
makes sense. Who knows what we could have seen had Blomkamp done Alien 5. Could have had all kinds of different camo and armor variations at some military outpost. Just look at what star wars has done with stormtrooper variations. I think the Aliens community is moving toward taking more artistic liberty. Since Its kind of up to us to expand this part of the universe and its lore, as long as Ridleys abominations keep coming out.
