The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Was the standard modern or close to screen outfit the Polish BDU as found on this site:

http://www.military1st.com/search/milit ... h+woodland

I am trying to better fill out my costumes and getting ready for next year.

Critiques and criticism welcome...

The Polish "Desert" is the one you are aiming for. I doubt you remember off the top of your head, but if you take a look at the shirt my dad was wearing under his smartgun gear that weekend we met you at fanboy expo, that is what it looks like (pretty good I always thought).

Basically any tan/khaki based camo works in a pinch. Bonus points if it DOESN'T have any green or black in it at all. It is definitely a unique camo in the film.

If you become sold on the polish desert but can't find any, stay tuned because I'll be selling a lot of my side project stuff soon including a bit of polish desert (although I'm not sure what may fit you)

Hey man, you want Polish Desert camo:

http://www.military1st.co.uk/colours-pl-desert/

the blouse they are selling would need some modifications to really make it screen accurate, but the trousers are pretty much fine. I went to the bother of moving the leg pocket on mine back in the day, but that's not really required.

Here's what I ordered, and am pleased with:

Shirt: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EE904FE
Trousers: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B017O3R076/

Not sure if they're a good choice, but they are Polish Desert BDU's, so hopefully I chose right.

I am trying to build out fan table stuff for the Knoxville Cons, so anything that you think might be a fit...

I will just add that everyone's costume was awesome, if there were any mistakes, I could not see any as your other elements covered up for any deficiencies.

Yes it would. The camo is a pretty good match even when shown side by side with screen accurate camo.

Now I would want to remove a lot of the pockets on that blouse to make it closer to screen accurate. As it is you wouldn't be able to add the patches to the sleeves.

Actually it looks like I could use velcro patches. Sigh, I will have to watch the movie again to verify patch placement. Most of the modern stuff has been designed to have removable patches, to account for the fact that some countries are part of NATO, UN, and other international bodies.

Or in light of the fact that soldiers are often times in areas they are not supposed to be...

If I go with velcro badges say this:
https://uspatriottactical.com/action-em ... -fastener/

Would that work or do I need to go with a flat black background on them?

In the movie it appears the badges were black and the rank badges were green and all were sew on. One could argue that recent updates allowed for velcro patches...
