The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Yeah those tubes are actually very very large. The real prop was something in the neighborhood of 35" tall (so should be roughly 3.5 inches in 1/10 NECA scale).

Instead of considering that the marines looked into the tubes while they were not only on a table, but also on a stand of some kind, NECA scaled them so the marines could look into them while placed on the floor. It bugged me for a while and I did consider cutting them down, but decided not to in favor of just sticking them in my 1/6th displays. I stuck the slightly larger mcfarlane facehuggers that came with their 12" alien in there.
They aren't perfect, but they are a heck of a lot closer to 1/6th than actually being 1/10th, so I like them better displayed that way.

That is precisely my thoughts on things, bigbisont; the stasis tubes are shorter and sitting on a platform, so Neca compinsated the overall size of the tube to factor it all in!

I don't have any 1/6 figures, but I can definitely see them being scaled more accurately! I wonder what was used in making the stand they sat on?
What I may end up doing is getting another stasis tube set, and sacrifice one to see if I can cut it down without ruining it. I do have a dremel and a few cutting wheels that could work for the tube, and my trusty pair of wire cutters for the support frames.

I always cringe when I have to potentially destroy a figure, accessory or model in order to make it look better or add to something else, but when it works, it's worth it.... and if it doesn't, you know what NOT to do in the future! :D

I've been wondering the same thing for the last while, whatever these are, they are found in the Stasis Room, MedLab and the APC.

Even if someone can figure out what they're meant for, I can probably track it down. I've been slowly trying to identify set pieces and this continues to stump me.

Hi Moosh89!
I thought all day about what the platforms might be, and they really look like a lab jack of some kind. It makes sense, but I don't know if the frame around it was fabricated for the movie or not, and I also couldn't tell you the make or model either. Here's a pic, what do you think?

It does look like possibly some wood shop equipment, doesn't it?
I was thinking to myself "they DID use the headrest covers from an old Volvo in the APC scenes, so maybe they used other parts as well for set dressing". I looked at Volvo bell housings and transmission gears from the 70's and 80's. I also even looked at car jacks as well (the inside of the stasis tube platform looks likes here's a butterfly jack in there). At the end of the day, I thought to myself that the logical explanation would be to look for medical/lab equipment as thats where they are primarily seen.
I bet it is some kind of lab jack that is possibly motorized, what with the black curly cord attached to it, though it could also be set dressing as well. I could be way off as to what it really is, but I think I'm looking in the right direction! :D :delta:

Great work guys!

I'm in agreement that it's some type of lab test equipment, as I've identified several units of test equipment used en mass around the colony and APC, so it's most likely the case here. I've made a post on a test equipment forum asking the minds over there for help, I will report back if I get any leads/info.

In the meantime, I will be covering this in the new Set Dressing Identification thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17126

Does NECA Customer Service have an actual email address - aside from Twitter?

Thanks all!

Hi Willie! I'm not sure if NECA has a customer service contact in the traditional sense. As far as I know, it's only via Twitter. They are very good about responding quickly though! When I reached out to them for Vasquez's "Adios" decal, they got back to me within a day and sent out several decals for her smartgun!

Yeah, that's the issue - I don't have a Twitter account, so was wondering if I could just email them?

Well, how about this- I'll see if I can find an email address for you. If I can't, maybe I could relay a message for you? I have them on my Twitter. Heh, truth be told, they are pretty much the only reason why I have Twitter in the first place!

Ouch. I'd say you might be out of luck and have to take it back to the store. I've never heard of them replacing something themselves.

I picked up the NECA Covenant Xenomorph today along with a NECA Jim Raynor space marine figure. They're both pretty sweet.

Taking a different approach with mine.
Going for cloth Uniforms ie HOT TOYS style but for 7" figures.

The Urban cammo pants on the WIP figure are for a Spec Ops type Marine or WY Operative.

The USCM BDUs are commissioned.
Everything else I will be doing ie restrapping, dremelling etc.

I plan to still use NECA for background forces however. Just waiting on a few orders of NECA goodness to arrive to really get stuck into this project. Plus hoping to tackle Dio building.

Bob ebay and look for "green-tiger" Item Number 152695942814

Get the 3mm, 5mm and 8mm to work at this scale. These are 1/6th but hey when it works for other scales, Do IT!

@bigbisont, Not the first time I have heard that LOL Always nice to try something New and 1/12 Clothed figures has become something of a hobby now. Who knew my hand sewing skills actually existed LOL

Slightly smaller than NECA USCM as these are 6.5 inches high.

Fully articulated and all cloth.

First One is clearly a custom as BDUs are urba/greys.

Has a kind of WY PMC look I'll give him that. Though I am leaning to either Black Armour or Dark GREY camo armour with Black Suspener webbing set.

Q hired him and the Sentry guns to protect the DBS lol

Also dabbling with the idea of possibly one or two USCM wearing the MK35 suits.

Now I know I strapped the shins wrong here but tis just to gauge. Thoughts on working? Have a set of Shoulder Plates from the McFarlane Hicks kicking about and can easily rig up new webbing suspenders to a belt for this. Shin guards though, thoughts?

Well we all know how HALO utilised aspects of ALIENS with their franchise.

Well Paybacks a Bitch HAHA

Utilising the Mattel HALO Warthog for 12" SPARTAN figures I stipped it down to and now currently sketching Ideas for a USCM Patrol Vehicle aka ATV/Armoured Patrol vehicle/Humvee type.
Has the trademark Big Wheels.

Thinking if going via the USCM Tech manual, this could be a 5-6 man vehicle. So could realistically operate as a Squad deployment vehicle or in Pairs, for a Section Deployment with Sgt & Drivers added to Squad numbers.

Anyway here's a stripped down Mattel Warthog I am reworking. As said deciding which way to go with Interior and exterior rebuild
