The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

A little explanation is needed, Aliens Beserker is one of my favorite comics. It's basically the Dirty Dozen meets Aliens. Inmate's volunteer for hive extermination missions, after so many missions they earn their freedom. One acts as bait and is taken to the hive, when the queen is spotted, they "release" the MAX suit to take out the queen while the rest do mop up.

So after Dragon con I decided I needed to repaint my armor in TRUE Beserker colors,

I am self teaching myself proper washes and stuff thanks to Spats advice

One leg finished(minus padding)

I plan to have a heavy wash and distress to my gear since inmate's probably won't take care of their gear as well as someone in the Corp.

What color and paint type did you use for this?

And in all honesty of the omnibus volumes I have the berserkers were an awesome series.

FYI, I found on my armor build Chicago screws from buckleguy.com were far better than pop rivets. You have to get them in packs from that site so you always have spares...

I found that the screw design allowed for easier and better field repairs.

Lowes and home depot sells chicago screws in their hardware section (you have to REALLY, REALLY look to find them.) They do not intermix with the buckle guy units.

::sigh:: I think I will crack open my omnibus volumes and maybe do a repaint as that color would go far better with my Joker/Harley theme.

Brian, for a wash, I typically use black acrylic paint on a wet clot/paper towel. Then I wipe much
of it off. That's what I did on my USCM armor (and my Halo ODST) and it worked out fine.

I also clear coat before I add the acrylic, so if I mess up I can wipe it off before it sets permanently. :)

I just started a 2nd job so my progress slowed down a bit

I did a base layer of metallic paint so I can achieve rub marks where some of the gear is over my chest plate

Image

Just need some webbing and this one will be finished

Got my spackage in the mail yesterday and thankfully I only worked one job today

My name will be the traditional black green so the black wash will make it blackish

Image

Decided to movie style my AB pad, Big thanks to Rich for photos of his TE armor....also I had to retake these pictures because I was originally shirtless

Image

Image

Edit: should have gone with black

Appologies if I missed you explaining this but I thought you'd have gone with a more brownish colour for the chestplate? Always thought it looked more brown or tan in the comics.

Heh, this is a funny story. According to a fellow board member who knows a lot about comics said that due to the printing process back then OD/OG tended to look the brown/mustard colors. This is why I went with green and red for my colors

By any chance are you going to put the "shark mouth" on the front of your helmet like the one character had?

Na, I was actually going to work on the face guard used by Teape, but make it removable so I don't suicide myself while wearing it in FL

Are you going to sculpt and form it, or use something off the shelf? I have an M3 filter mask that is pretty close to that, but the actual filters are pretty large.
