The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

My daughter made it to Honorable Mention during the costume contest. The judges loved her weapons and "80s" shoes. Included some of the weapons pics too. Sorry, I don't think they are super detailed but they are my first time making props out of foam and pvc.

First place in my book! Awesome weapons too! All made from scratch?

Are those boots official or custom?

Thanks for showing!

Everything was hand-made except the clothes and the wig. Built the M240 out of EVA foam and PVC. used PVC, foam, copper pipe, sheet aluminum and wood (butt stock), and sheet steel (barrel shroud) for the M41A. Grenades were printed with a 3D printer and bandolier/grenade suspenders were hand sewn. Locator duck taped to pulse rifle was a modified dowel rod. Shoes were a pair of cheapos from Walmart with layers of foam added to make them high tops. I am very proud of the job I did with the painting on the flamethrower and rifle. I am building another M41A for me and still looking for cutout plans to make the M3 armor. Hoping to be done by mid Jun or August for the Comicon in Chicago.

FYI, I have no idea how to use this website...

That's super impressive! Those boots especially look fantastic! Your attention to detail is great!

As for the M3 armour cutouts I'm assuming you mean Pepakura files? I know they're floating around somewhere, hopefully another member will chime in with a link :delta:

PS: You're doing just fine so far! :)

Thanks all. Appreciate the compliments.

So my goal is to make a set of armor similar to Hicks'; well mostly like Hicks...mostly (I would customize it more for me). Planning to use EVA foam and fiberglass or some kind of hardening spray agent (saw a guy on the web make an Ironman suit that way) but for the life of me I cannot find a good link to any plans (pepakura or other). Driving me nuts! Most of the links are no longer available. Worst case I will make them from scratch but they probably won't be as accurate.

Just did a quick board search for them, these should be what you're looking for!

Nice man! I wasn't able to hit WW this year due to work. You guys hit Archon or any of the other smallers cons around StL?

We are thinking of going to MightyCon in June in St. Charles and possibly even WW in Chicago in August. Depends on if I can get my armor built in time and/or if they bring in some better talent. WW St Louis this year had very little to offer except Gene Simmons. I like KISS but I wouldn't pay for his picture. What other Cons are out here?

Archon in Collinsville in the fall is the biggest local that isn't WW. There are a whole bunch of small stuff anime and such but Ive never gone to those. If you guys would've had it in the fall, could've used you for the Aliens 30th showing at one of the theaters.
