The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

On the 18th-19th March, members of UKCM were invited to attend the MCM Birmingham Comic-Con with Reel Icons/UK Garrision.

Myself and Corsasri (Gary Pusey) were there anyway as we're also Reel Icons members, but we were joined by Nostromo (Andy Rowlands) to troop along with the other RI Marines. We were also joined by a couple of Xenos (One of which was Chef, the other James Richards) and we also had some fun hanging out with UK Predators who were also invited to troop that day, who brought a couple of xenos of their own and a Ripley.

Here's a few pics of the weekend's shenanigans. It would be great if more UKCM members would come along and troop with Reel Icons/UK Garrison. Its a great place to promote what we do and you get free entry, free car parking and free refreshments, which you don't get if you just go as a paying customer.

UK Predators and Mando Mercs use the events to recruit would be members and are given stall space, I'm sure if enough members came along they'd let us have stall space too if any of UKCM wanted to do a recruitment drive?

One of many videos of the UKGarrison parade, with the other clubs who were attending that day. We went through the photography exhibition next door, so there are plenty of videos online of this...

This was the Saturday parade, you can see the Reel Icons and UKCM marines around the 2min mark

https://youtu.be/P4s9VYv1iQw

And another, Marines and Ripley around the 54second mark and again at 2:07

That would be James Richards, not sure if he posts on here or not. Chef was out in a Xeno costume too, but he didn't get much time to come out and play, as being a senior member of UK Garrison, he has a lot of stuff to sort out at these events.

A lady I happened to notice taking a pic of me while I was having a smoke outside the main entrance on Saturday gave me her card and later emailed me three pics, and the B&W one with the background looks like it could be from Vietnam :-)

Yeah it's great, I used a cropped version for my current Facebook profile pic.

We have already talked about tables at the MCM events, its all good to have them, just requires enough people to 'staff' them. Its slightly different to SM events where the table is the 'base' as it were.
