The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hey guys and gals. I have a few people in the Charlotte area kitted out with no where really to go. Anyone else around with some cool ideas?

Check www.colonialmarines.info and check the charter. There might be a few marines in the area you don't know about.

As far as a place to go, there's always Dragoncon ;)

Awesome, thanks for the tip, I know two of those guys from the old Almeyer's Folly days. And I'm still listed under California from 2000.

Heck yeah Top. I was rereading my old review of Spat's armor from 15 years ago. Still stick by it. That man makes some incredible nerd fuel.

Greetings,

Im new to this Cosplay fandom (Longtime Alien Universe Fan), and was looking to link up with some folks as I have some other friends interested in expanding our Cosplay to the Colonial Marines here in Central NC. Any advice or pointers to go with to start obtaining the basic parts of uniforms?

Looking forward to hearing from folks and thanks.

The below thread has a great reference in the first post. The Aliens Cosplay/Costume Guide. And of course, scour the forums

Durham isn't far from the CLT area platoon, we've got about four right now with our other three on deployment in the real world service.

Very cool Chun. A lot of my family lives around Charlotte so I get out there pretty often. Does this count as my own squad?

Absolutely! Looking great Marines. I use Polish camo too. Let's link up at the next con. There's a decent one twice a year uptown.

We hit up Heroscon every year. What are some other good ones over there? I need to start planning my vacation days.

Charlotte Comicon runs twice a year. It's fairly well attended for a small venue but the costume contest prizes alone are worth going. Colonial Marine squads are shoe-ins for group awards. I've also gotten a permanent ok on airsoft pulse rifles.

I'll be in town visiting my sister in law! I think I can make the 2pm Sunday show.

That would be cool, FYI it is one of the reserved seating type of places. We are in the middle of row D. Plenty of room left. www.silverspot.net

What a difference seeing it at a Cinema. The clarity blows Blu-ray away. Too bad we can't have a pause button to analyze the screen for details. They had the sound balancing perfect. It totally brings you in.

It really was shocking. You get so used to thinking you see it in hi def all the time, but wow.

Wish it had been a Saturday night showing so we could have made a bigger party out of it, but good times and thanks again for the heads up. I wouldn't have noticed had it not been for this thread.
